Re: “The Daily Links: Uni Watch, the Second Amendment, and Graphic Images

Empress: NO I do NOT agree with any of your scurrilous assertions. Where do you get the idea he was hired because he was black? And why do you believe the reason for his pathological anger was because of work and not mental illness? Perhaps you had an intimate lunch with the murderer or he was a Harvard classmate, I would not venture to guess which.
And if it's NOT obvious to you, as much in this world seems to be not obvious to you, I do NOT agree with your rather baseless point. But then, who really would except your alter egos/sock puppets.

BTW: "68 states"???? Is that what they taught you at McGavock?

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

Here's how this really works. All of the residents are being offered Section 8 vouchers, despite the fact there isn't near enough available housing to move to. Also, if it goes as it has in the past, such as with the Preson Taylor homes, anyone who wants to move back has to reapply. Rebuilding the Cayce homes is simply a way to keep the yuppies in the area happy and "clean up". The fact they are building retail space(??) and it will be "mixed" income demonstrates what's actually going on. There is NO WAY someone who makes 80k a year, for example, will be living next to someone receiving SSI($733.00 a month). And what is MDHA doing building relail space??

Moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.

A little moderation would improve this forum immensely.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

You are in sight of downtown and Cayce is a world away. A world you wouldn’t know anything about or be caught dead in. Go back w/o your circling TV cameras because the only thing that circles for these people are police helicopters. Offer them opportunity. Tear down their homes, knowing there's no room for everyone to come back. Bring in mixed income housing and pretty landscaping. Talk about schools but also explain to them how they can feed their family off food stamp cuts and keep the kids from being shot. They want better things but you’re opportunity is not their reality but they look forward to your next visit.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

I would think being endorsed by Kane is the LAST thing either candidate would want.

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

Isn't the plan for Cayce based on the East Lake initiative in Atlanta?

Re: “The Daily Links: Uni Watch, the Second Amendment, and Graphic Images

Brainless,

If nothing else, the GOP controls all branches of gov't in 23 states and in 68 states they are a majority. I pray this move to the right will continue. If you really believe in individual rights, religious freedom, a strong military with state's rights strongly protected without interference from a powerful central gov't, you must agree or at least listen.

Stalking me is not attractive.

The people are anxious to "retake" the country (see Donald Trump). Well, it will be a hard road for conservatives; I admit that..

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

I applaud the envision Cayce initiative, however, the transparency of having this "monumental" endorsement in Cayce (which is undoubtedly the first time either mayoral candidate has been there......) is a further example of desperate pandering for votes.

Europe has its own migration/immigration problems. Perhaps moreso than the U.S.

Hussein Asheini, the head of Libya's Red Crescent in the coastal city of Zuwara, says at least 105 migrants have drowned off the Libyan coast when their boat capsized

"some might wonder about more sinister intentions, ie, the left wants to keep black voters happy"

"some" would be the far right-wing who see "sinister intentions" in anything done by the government unless it is under their control.

"Do you think I have a valid point?"

As usual, no.

Re: “Ashley Madison Users of Tennessee, Let's Talk

I recall being told that I should not look at the ill gotten photos of Jennifer Lawrence. Her privacy was violated via hacker. We should shun the hacker and respect her privacy.

Am I to assume these users of AM are entitled to the same level of respect?

Probably not, given all of the email addresses I keep seeing reported.

Yeah, Doug "Rape Ain't What It Used To Be" Henry really has his finger on the pulse of Nashville's future. With legislative initiatives like clearing hedges
To show confederate memorials, he fits right in in Fox's camp.

Jeremy Kane just wants metro funding for his charter school so he can be rich like David Fox.

Would either of these politicians send their kids to the LEAD charter school? No. These guys are just a bunch of rich great white hopes.

Re: “The Daily Links: Uni Watch, the Second Amendment, and Graphic Images

JC,

Maybe not and speculating. We agree he was hired because he was black and the station was forced to meet federal guidelines, resulting in the worker being in a position he could not handle, mad all the time because of the misfit. Possibly he would have performed far better in a lesser job.

I think the point here is often unintended consequences result from good intentions- the road to hell is paved with good intentions as we all know..

That being said, some might wonder about more sinister intentions, ie, the left wants to keep black voters happy. Meddling by the Federals at this level of our lives might not be quite as fine as we thought 50 years ago.

Do you think I have a valid point?

Re: “#MayoralChatter: Kane Endorses Fox, Urges Support for Cayce Place

Mr. Kane's endorsement was nice, but the best of all for Mr. Fox was that of
former Sen. Henry. Truly one of the nicest & most honest men in the city &
top of the list in the State Legislature for over 30 yrs.
