"More Davids Than Goliaths" is now a New York Times Best Seller. It is ranked number 20 for the week ending August 19 --not bad for a book that has only been out for two weeks. Furthermore, the book doesn't trash anyone. Ford talks honestly about his time in politics and the book is dedicated to the voters of the 9th District of Tennessee. Woods is just an angry guy who has never liked Ford. "More Davids Than Goliaths" is a terrific read. Everyone should read it and all will be proud of Ford, especially Tennesseans.

Big Daddy Junior's strategy -- or does he pronounce it "stra-te-gery" like another Dim Son -- is what caused the big-booted rooster and the rabid hamster to lose in the Rethugligan primary. Talk about choking on pretzel logic ....
Earth to Big Daddy Junior -- Haslam won the Rethug primary because most Tennesseans don't want Tea-hadist values representing and running our government, regardless of whether they have a "D" or an "R"behind their names.
Howard Switzer has my vote, and it's a far more serious vote than the one I gave to Basil in the primary. I think we all expect that Haslam has the election in the bag (probably his own bag). But, hey, Switzer is a loser I can believe in, unlike another anti-gay, anti-progressive tax, inexperienced, clueless, gun-fallating creationist that is an embarrassment to Democrats (and democrats) everywhere.
If you are a real progressive, vote Switzer. Let's put Big Daddy Junior in third place at the end of this whore's race. Maybe then the party of Andrew Jackson will get the blood transfusion it so desperately needs.

Mr. McWherter's campaign strategy, coupled with recent rhetoric from the White House about "drug testing" anybody complaining about Obama from a progressive perspective, is just one more reason why any progressive with a spine should vote for Howard Switzer, the Green Party gubernatorial candidate. He makes a lot more sense than Haslam or McWherter, and far more sense than Mr. Reesor. Had enough of Tweedledee and Tweedledum politics in Tennessee? It's time to give center-right Democrats a thumping they won't forget!

Thanks, bubbadorun! Howard Switzer, the Green Party's candidate for Governor, is somebody that a progressive Democrat could vote for without holding his/her nose, unlike Mike "me, too" McWherter, who seems to be a RIDD (Republican in Democrat Drag)....with the conventional wisdom being that Haslam is a shoo-in, I would strongly encourage Democrats who want to send a message to the state party about its rightward drift to vote for Howard.

It just hit me: God decides everything, right? At least for reslugliKlans. (He put bu$h in office twice, despite the vote count both times.) That means He didn't want teagagger Ramsey or secessionist/traitor Wamp to be our next governor.

The secession thing is just rhetoric for voters who are fed up with the rampant corruption and endless "free" goodies paid for with debt. Wamp thinks he could make things better, or else he wouldn't be running. Why do you object to speaking truth to power?
Ramsey is rightly suspicious of Muslims. They talk out of both sides of their mouth. Mosques today, bombs tomorrow. America has no use for any of it.
Also, comparing legitimate candidates with some YouTube comedian is a trick that won't work. I think even someone with a public school education can see past that one.
What is really crazy is how The Scene gets behind Mr. Moneybags. You like to pretend you're alternative, but the fact is you're establishment all the way.

My wife was surprised this past Friday evening when A C Wharton got mentioned and pointed at twice during the Jackson Day Celebration, once by Mike McWherter himself. I had to explain to her that A C was the only person from Memphis they could find who supported McWherter.

Well with bat shit crazies on the one side and a hereditary party hack on the other, I'm starting to think that a Green candidate might actually have a chance.
After all those hippies didn't screw up the Gulf, they didn't steal the economy and they aren't taking people's homes... aah yes.
Maybe when the Berlin Wall comes down or a black guy becomes President or ... or something else unimaginable 20 years ago (you know, conventional wisdom.).

the more i delve on this the more sickened i am for our state. what a lack of choices for governor. either we have a bunch of bickering 'family values, ie: conservative christians creationist' republican candidates who do nothing but spit out twaddle as to who is more conservaive than who or a democrat that is pretty much non-existant.
if i were to pick the not the worst, default canidate, i am going to write in mickey mouse. at least he makes more sense than the rest of this pack of fools.

So all the candidates are creationists who deny the fact of evolution, which is just as ridiculous and just as wrong as if they insisted the earth is flat in spite of all evidence to the contrary. Anyone that out of touch with reality should not be in any position of authority anywhere. In fact, if they actively sabotage the science education of American children in public schools, perhaps they should be tried for treason?
