Re: “The 15 Best Acts The Spin Saw at Bonnaroo

I saw like, none of these. But you screwed up if you missed Royal Blood. And the crowd at the Which Stage was really digging Brownout as Brown Sabbath. Guess I'm not not hip enough.

Re: “The Spin does Bonnaroo 2012

I was kind of stoked to see my picture up there! Much love!

Re: “Foo Fighters at the Ryman

I am so upset I couldn't see this show, I am so proud of the Foo Fighters for putting this show on for true Nashville fans and especially highlighting the greatest music scene we have for their new show Sonic Highways. I can't wait till they can come back so I can get to see them myself for the first time live. Great job guys, you are at the fore front of rock right now, the spokespeople for this great music genre. Thank God for you all!!! Your fan truly, Raphael Boldrick, Nashville, TN.

Re: “Paul McCartney at Bridgestone; Alice Cooper blows away Motley Crue and surprises Dan McGuinness

While Alice cooper amazed me with his props and his music I'm a much bigger fan after attending the concert.. but I'm also a die hard crue fan.. It's kinda embarrassing to say it's your farewell tour when the other band you are touring with has been around a good 15+ years then they were.. Both bands were great and I'm seeing them again on this "last" tour but if motley crue makes this the last tour they are making a mistake.

Thank you Sir Paul McCartney keeping John Lennon, George Harrison's memory alive....

Rock on Alice Cooper...he accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior in 2005...his lovely ballad Salvation.

Re: “Paul McCartney at Bridgestone; Alice Cooper blows away Motley Crue and surprises Dan McGuinness

I was completely bummed to miss McCartney this time. Ticket prices, sheesh! But I saw the legend in '90 and '92 in Florida and his 2010 Bridgestone show. But of those 3 shows, I have not witnessed "Maybe I'm Amazed", and for this I am most sad to have missed this one.

No surprises with the Alice Cooper review. Cooper is one of the greatest live acts ever and still puts out great albums. He is ten times a better performer than Motley Crue.

Re: “Deluxin', Ben Spinks Supermelt, Fox Fun and Churchyard at Little Harpeth Brewery, Kris Kristofferson at the Ryman

"Again, nothing to gripe about. Good job, Nashville." Jeez.

Ben Spinks is actually the second shortest-running band on this bill. Fox Fun have been a band since 2010, while Ben Spinks formed in mid-2011.

Also, does The Spin get tired of making thumb up the ass, lazy comparisons to the Nuggets compilation? Maybe you should compare your writing to a Lenny Kaye piece.

Re: “Yes with Syd Arthur at the Ryman, Warped Tour at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds

I have to admit it. I am really disappointed that The Scene didn't cover/write up The Protomen's Warped Tour set.

Re: “Billy Joel with Jon McLaughlin at Bridgestone Arena

It's nice to know that I am not the only one a little sad at at the lack on Vienna last a Friday night. It's my favorite too. Other than that, I was over joyed to be there.

Re: “Brendan Benson and Friends at the Ryman, The Spaceship of the Imagination Christmas Spectacular at The 5 Spot

"I Don't Want To See You Anymore" is on Benson's latest album. Perhaps you are thinking of "Consider Me", which was written by Benson and Monroe for the TV show "Nashville" and was also performed at that concert.

Re: “Southern Ground Music and Food Festival night 2, Blondie and X at the Ryman

You could not have said it better than that first paragraph. I was there in '83 and at the Ryman 30 years later to enjoy a great show. What got me was how both bands had kept it together pretty well but the crowd, myself included, appeared kind of faded. Great example of use it or lose it. :) I wore the t-shirt that Debbie autographed for me when Blondie appeared down at the river front in 2004. Both groups will probably still be making the rounds when they're a hundred years old. Hope I can be there.

Re: “Taylor Swift at Bridgestone Arena, Music City Eats' Petty Fest at War Memorial Auditorium

Hi The Spin (c'mon, give us a name, what are you afraid of?), you changed the title to be more attractive so that you could save this article. Why not make this piece of **** itself more attractive?
When this REVIEW (dare not name it review?) became popular, you will regret it. Daniel Patrick Flynn is just the first hater. Don't worry, hater gonna hate. If there are only haters. You will regret being on page one.
Did you see the movie PRETTY WOMAN? Julia Roberts is PRETTY WOMAN inside and out even though the character was a HOOKER. Changing title to HOOK people doesn't necessarily make it PRETTY.
Hi Nashville Scene, was this written by an intern? Please show some professionalism!!!

Re: “Taylor Swift at Bridgestone Arena, Music City Eats' Petty Fest at War Memorial Auditorium

Let me see...three sold out stadium performances in Nashville. Oh wait a minute...everywhere? Saw a lot of adult men on the 21st too. Maybe you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. Ever think of that?

Re: “Robyn Hitchcock at Mercy Lounge, Katey Red at The Stone Fox

Also, Pale Blue Eyes and Visions of Johanna are pretty skeletal on the original records, so perhaps that isn't an apt descriptor. Hitchcock played a busker's set, which was a let-down, considering how immense his own oeuvre is and how long he's spent crafting a worldview that pits the individual (or EYE if you want to use Hitchcock's own terminology) against the political and mundane forces that make us yearn for a way out of our limited subjective and selfish experiences; i.e. love. Any mother fucker in Nashville with an acoustic guitar knows how to play a Bob Dylan song. And if the Velvet Underground aren't as widely covered, any mother fucker with a computer and an acoustic guitar can learn the whole discography in an afternoon.

Re: “Robyn Hitchcock at Mercy Lounge, Katey Red at The Stone Fox

Actually, most of the Hitchcock penned songs in the second set came from Eye and not Queen Elvis. Learn your craft you hooligans.

Re: “Muddy Roots Music Festival in Cookeville, Nashville's Dead's Anniversary at Exit/In feat. Oblivians and more

It sounds like it was a great summer festival with a lot of talented new up and coming performers. Next year I would love to hear some performers who offer new Australian music. There are some wonderful new artists coming out of that area this year and it would be a great idea to get them booked now!
