Re: “Thirty years later, Raging Fire leaves the so-called Nashville Curse in ashes

Yes it was a "really small scene" with lots of great bands and local artists... I designed and airbrushed the record label on the "highly collectable" 91 Rock"City Without a Subway"...I was NEVER PAID by Richie Owens

Good story Doyle. Even though the scene was really small here, there were so many great bands and characters. Thanks god for 91 rock.

This is the best story I ever read. I wonder if all our old friends will be at the show. I wish I could be there. Sad to hear about Michael Godsey. Best of luck to Raging Fire whose exit from the scene we have been mourning for 30 years. Cloves and leather and Elliston Place - man those were the days.

I don't think they are worried about their long game...

Please let the band know I have some great Raging Fire live footage and interviews from the mid-1980's, where they appeared several times on the Nashville video show I hosted, called Saturday Night @ The Video.

Re: “How a terrible worship song drove me from Christianity

your written work about this dilemna is a poor excuse and is
no better than the song you quoted. Sorry... just an opinion.

My favorite song on this album is "Hollow Man". I think there is a place inside of each of us that only God can fill. We stuff it with all sorts of things, but his love is all that satisfies.

Re: “How a terrible worship song drove me from Christianity

John 15:15 - No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing. But I have called you friends, because all things that I heard from My Father, I have made known to you.

If you believe Jesus is God made flesh, than he indeed calls us his friend, a title worthy of those who have studied his word.

However, my faith in YHWH goes deeper than lyrics. I believe words hold power. As concise as God was with his words, we should be also. To say your song is anointed is boasting, and uncalled for. People get so caught up in feelings, when I strayed from Christianity and decided to come back, I felt nothing and I was frustrated to not be able to feel anything.

When I decided not to go back to church until God directs me to one that is all about him, I studied the Bible on my own, meditated and praised and worship in my own way. Now I can sing with true love in my heart because I know him for myself. I wasn't being coaxed into someone else's form of worship. Catholicism is... odd. To me, it's the most insincere and corrupted form of Christianity. All those statues and dead saints and confession are all things spoken against in the Bible.

Find your faith in God, not by a structure of a church, (the church begins inside you; Ephesians 1:22-23) but in truth and studying the word and spending personal alone time with God.
