The thing that I did not like is you get in and it is advertising after advertising. For 15 bucks a car and more than an hour wait....the last thing I want to see are miniature billboards advertising businesses. You would think they made enough not to do that.

While the food at the Henpeck Market is a standout for the area, the service is deplorable. One would expect to be enveloped in southern hospitality as sweet as the iced tea, but not here. It is as if your presence is a nuisance to the hostess and waitresses and they go out of their way to avoid eye contact with you. It is truly a shame as the food is stellar. From the daily hot bar preparations to the menu items, everything is flavorful, well prepared, and seasoned perfectly. If you are not ready to bolt out the door from the poor service at the end of your meal, the desserts are amazing. They are a throwback to exact replicas of what your grandma made. Sweet, prepared with love, and tasty. Too bad that the service doesn't match the food. It if did, you likely would have to wait in line for hours just to get in this place.

This theater only has two good large screens, the smaller rooms have very inadequate sound systems, voices feel like they are through a pillow sometimes in these. The AC and ambiance is not quiet either. They do not pride themselves in AV quality like their competition in other cities.

My wife and I ate here on a Wednesday shortly after they opened. We were excited to try the food after being given a recommendation by a friend about the food and beer specials. The menu had some great options all centered around bacon. The servers were friendly. We were enjoying it so much we got 3 of our friends to come join us.

My wife and I have been looking for a place to do weekly trivia and after being told that The Field House would have trivia every Tuesday we were excited to make that our regular place.

Then our check came. Upon looking at the Facebook page of The Field House, it says that their happy hour included 2-for-1 drafts. Upon arriving at the restaurant, there is a sign that states 2-for-1 drafts. Upon being welcomed by our server, we are again told the special is 2-for-1 drafts. No restrictions are mentioned. I proceeded to order craft beers expecting that they would be included in the deal.

When we received our check my beers were all full price, which is when I was told by my server that the deal only included domestic drafts. My server agreed that this was confusing and got the manager to handle the situation. This is where things went from bad to worse.

The manager, Ash, approached our table and proceeded to explain to me that “it was 2-for-1 drafts, but they did not say which drafts.” He made this statement with an incredible amount of smugness as if he had tricked me into getting full price beers. As if his misleading advertisement worked and he was happy about it. Ash made no offers to make corrections to the check, because apparently it was my fault for not asking to clarify the specials they advertised.

To be clear, I was not that upset with the confusion and had the check been cleared up this one time I would have loved to come back and get domestic drafts. But because Ash chose to treat me the way he did and for choosing to not take the $8 off my check I will refuse to go back here. I will not support a business that benefits him.

Their burgers are delicious and fries are great, but the customer service sucks. Waiters and waitresses are too busy engrossed in personal conversation, hanging out, to check on customers. They're bringing this place down. It could have longevity if not for the wait staff.

I grew up in the neighborhood where Sperry's is located and used to go with my parents at least once a week from the time it opened. It was my Father's favorite place. My husband and I have celebrated birthdays, anniversaries there for a lot of years. However when we went there to eat about 6 months ago on a Saturday night it was bedlam in there. We had a reservation but had to sit in the bar. I have read other comments and agree with them regarding the bar flies and their suitors that are obnoxious and loud. I order Prime Rib and my husband ordered a Rib Eye.. Well our meal arrived and my piece of rib eye looked like an end piece that should have never been served. I sent it back and the waiter was most gracious. It came back for a second time and was raw-sent it back again. After my husband had finished eating by third and final piece of prime rib arrived with a fresh , hot baked potato. It was OK but not up to the usual standards of this restaurant. The manager apologized and did not charge us but this would have never happened in days past. And yes- it is on the high end pricewise for what you get.
Service is still excellent but I agree-it is time to lighten the place up inside. The outside has recently been painted and fixed and looks nice. It is very dark inside and would be a great place to meet someone if you wanted to keep it a secret. The competition is stiff now in Nashville so watch out!

Went for a late lunch not too long ago. The restaurant was mostly empty. I ordered the fish tacos. The tacos arrived crisp to the point of turning into wood. The amount of breading bests the amount of fish by two to one. THe sides were cold and the veg had an unhealthy brown hue. Sadly I won't be back.

My husband and I used to enjoy coming to this bar...a casual place to get out of the house and come to, have a few drinks while interacting with the friendly staff and watching a ball game on tv. We used to live down the road but bought a second home recently and hadn't been in several months... we went in this weekend and didn't recognize anyone. We were asked at the door whether we wanted to pay a cover or pay $10 for all you can drink draft beer for a few hours. We'd done this in the past, and agreed to do it again... we've always tipped the staff well knowing we'd paid our $10 and they took care of refilling our cups. We came to the bar intending on ordering dinner along with our drinks while watching a few football games. The strange feeling set in from the minute the daytime bartender about to leave came and asked me if she could get me a drink. I told her I'd like a Bud Light as we'd paid for the beer at the door. She apparently was unaware of this, and was very unfriendly as she turned to ask a male bartender what the "beer deal" was. Then she growled at me inquiring as to if we need 2 cups so she could get them in 1 trip (my husband was in the restroom). We have NEVER had an issue with staff in the past, and this didn't set well with me. We asked for Bud Light but I saw her get us Miller Lite... we didn't say anything, although neither of us are fans of Miller Lite. We drank it not wanting to cause a scene until my husband asked for a second beer. We asked for Bud Light and the bartender- tall, about 6'2, gray hair, mid-40's- poured Miller Lite and brought it back. When we asked about it he got very angry... apparently the Bud Light keg was having a problem. It wouldn't have been a big issue had he explained it to us (as is normal with customer service) and informed us they were about to attempt to fix it. He made a snide remark about how we had the "free beer" so we should be grateful to get whichever draft beer they chose to give us. This has never been the case before, and had we known this was the response paying our $20 would have gotten us, we would have declined and ordered our drinks one at a time. The bartender then proceeded, WITHIN OUR EARSHOT, to tell 2 females that we had no right to complain about Miller Light with our $10...this was completely unnecessary and classless! My husband and I due to long work hours don't get to get out much together, and given it's the first season of football, just wanted to hang out. Anyway, 1 of the females (blonde) who apparently is the bartender's girlfriend came over to apologize and asked us to be patient since she was the reason he was in a bad mood. I've worked in customer service, and your personal probelms should NEVER be taken out on customers. I am APPALLED at how we were treated... we used to patronize this location quite frequently, but will not anymore. If I was a bar owner, would absolutely want to know this was how my customers were being treated. He began yelling and cursing at both my husband and I, and while we were preparing to leave, THREW US OUT! Wow... I guess we'll stay closer to home and go to better establishments. How embarrassing JC's Bullseye, and shame on you...

giving this restaurant a poor review because of their parking attendant. I went there today and was trying to exit the parking lot instead of park where he wanted me to, and he proceeded to pound on my window so hard I'm surprised it didn't break, and then yelled at me not to ignore him. I won't be returning, he really ruined the place for me.

Chappy’s in Nashville “specializing” in New Orleans and Creole food, we wanted to see for ourselves. I have not been there for dinner, but I have eaten lunch there and that fried chicken sandwich was very delicious. When we walked in, the vibe was depressing; no one was upbeat and it seemed like everything was moving in slow motion, and the décor was French quarter on a messy budget.

Our server told us about his likes and the specials, and delivered the bread with an array of butters. We looked over the menu and decided to go with an appetizer and soup to start. The fried green tomatoes were just ok a little bland for my taste, but the parmesan cheese, and sauce helped it out. When I saw corn and crab bisque, I had to order it and the soup was good. For entrée, I ordered the chicken ship island (it was a shipwreck) the chicken breast had no flavor, I could not find it at all, and I even looked under the table. I chose not to get the rice du jour; I chose the mixed vegetables and it looked like a hot mess served on a plate. My guest ordered grilled bbq spice shrimp and it was not spicy, but he added the Chappys hot sauce and it worked that out. He loved the rice du jour but all in all it was just ok. Being a New Orleans style restaurant, I saw bread pudding on the menu and really wanted it; however, I no longer had and appetite.

Chappy’s has a plenty of space on the inside and descent parking out back. They also have jazz night and offer cooking classes. It has been open since 2006 and how it has been said to be the best Cajun restaurant in Nashville, but really there is not many around here. The owner is really a cool fun guy who chats with the every guest, but hopefully they can get it together so the place can stick around.

I am a southern boy, so when I heard of Arnold’s Country Kitchen and all of their accolades, I had to go. I grabbed my big appetite cousin and we headed over the railroad tracks. Luckily we got there just before the big rush, the place was almost packed, but fifteen minutes later there was a line outside the door and it spilled over into the parking area. The place is small with just a few tables but that’s cool. It wouldn’t hurt them to do a deep cleaning. The order line, plates, and eating utensils reminded me of a prison cafeteria (never been, but seen them on TV).

So we are about to order and the good thing is, you can see all the food you are about to devour (especially my beloved CHESS PIE). It was Tuesday so I ordered the meatloaf, 1 piece of catfish, candied yams, turnip greens, mac & cheese, hot water cornbread and chess pie of course. My cousin ordered the meatloaf as well, along with the same sides plus the white beans. Everything was just ok, but the turnip greens were missing that love and extra home cooked flavor. The meatloaf was not my fave but edible; however, the mac and cheese was the winner on the plate. The chess pie was average (try Rose’s home-style catering and bakery chess squares). I made the catfish work with a lil added hot sauce. Oh boy I wish they would have had some good sweet red Kool-Aid ha-ha.

One of the good things was the service, they moved the line pretty fast and everyone had a smile on their face. They recognized the regulars, and chit chatted with every guest. The price for portion size of food is pretty accurate. I can’t say it’s the best meat and three in Nashville, but all in all the food was average nothing to tell mother about. This establishment is part of Nashville’s’ history, but James Beard award winner, I don’t think so. More important, this is a Nashville institution that the people here love.

First off let me say, the sound system is GREAT.
With that said, the sound GUY is a complete and utter fucking asshole. If you EVER play there be prepared to be talked down and smarted off to while you're trying to do a simple fucking sound check. There's a reason why this place doesn't have a lot of traffic, because of the jerk-off sound guy and shitty booking agent that books whoever he wants with you regardless of what you say and doesn't even notify you before you make show posters after emailing him 10 times in a week.
Yep you have been warned if you want to put up with all that bullshit to play a lousy show there.

Went here on lunch today. Fast service and pleasant staff. The food however was not the greatest. :( Meat was overcooked and food was somewhat blan. The market part had most basic essentials (most of which you could find in a regular grocery store), but not much else.

Not sure which BBQ place the other reviewer went to but it definitely wasn't rippy's... Service was horrible, I felt like I was imposing on the staff to ask for a refill on my flat soda. I had to drink soda because the beer they brought me was warm. Ribs were dried out and a big let down considering they boast to have the best in Nashville. I never write negative reviews but had to on this one. Open for other suggestions!

With its decor as dull and comfortless as a disused bus station, its dining room placed inches from the non-foyered entry door and fronting the half-walled kitchen from which crashes and bangs thunder regularly every few seconds, and its vistas of a suburban strip-mall, Miel's ambiance rates lower that of than many chain restaurants, much less what one would expect for haute cuisine. The service, too, is shockingly bad; non-existent much of the time (no offer to refill wine or coffee -- actually, no initial offer to SERVE wine or coffee!; although we were only one of three couples in his section, our waiter left our entrees dallying on the counter so long, the hostess finally served them; our bottle of wine arrived ten minutes AFTER the entrees), punctuated by disruptive bouts of rudeness (interrupting a romantic toast; offering to let the escorted married lady taste the wine her husband had ordered, not the gentleman, as is proper; commenting derisively on the gentleman's request for additional service). The food is divine, although portions may be somewhat meager. IF this boit had someone as devoted to ensuring its good service and ambiance as the chef evidently devotes himself to its cuisine, Miel would be a sweet treat indeed. As it stands now, however, the experience is simply too bitter to endure.

The grilled salmon was dry and rather tasteless. Our table placement was very poor, it was later-8:30 or so, is that late? I suppose the staff was ending their day and getting doing prep work for the next day.
I was lucky enough to have a delightful view of the inside of the grimy looking kitchen? I could see a waiter with his pants undone tucking in his shirt, a waitress emptying garbage cans then mopping the floor, then she proceeded to sweep under a few tables, several waitresses were rattling around with salt and pepper shakers... It wasn't that crowded and certainly there may have been other tables available-even if we had to wait a few minutes would have been more preferred than the terrible table we had. My husband enjoyed the steak he was served and we loved the spinach appetizer.

Just did Sperry's again for about the 10 time, all the while hoping I would somehow find the love my spouse has for this place. Sadly, no. While being legend in Nashville it's all smoke and mirrors (er, "grease and dust" would be more appropriate). Decor strait out of "Jolly Ox" era of steakhouses circa 1972. Menu is very standard AARP fare, beef, chicken, pork chop, salmon and one other fish/shell food. Grim salad bar, dungeon like interior, and average age of customer = 70. Reasonable wine list, good bar service, food is high quality and tasty but, heavily salted and bathed in butter and or cheap cheese. Nothing close to "light and natural" here with perhaps the exception of the crab cakes (exceptional). If you long for the feel of a chain midscale steakhouse from the 1970's complete with the accumulated filth of the past 40 years coupled with reasonably good but, heavy food at a price close to double what it should be then, Sperry's is for you.
