Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

I found several choices for a pulled pork sandwich walking the streets of Nashville. Same for live entertainment. I selected Rippy's because of the music coming from 3 guys playing acoustic guitar that was drifting from the inviting open front. There was a female signing on the rooftop too, but I never made it upstairs. Food A+, service was quick, friendly, music was good, and everyone was accommodating. Perfect choice for that beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Re: “Fieldhouse Bar & Grill

My wife and I ate here on a Wednesday shortly after they opened. We were excited to try the food after being given a recommendation by a friend about the food and beer specials. The menu had some great options all centered around bacon. The servers were friendly. We were enjoying it so much we got 3 of our friends to come join us.

My wife and I have been looking for a place to do weekly trivia and after being told that The Field House would have trivia every Tuesday we were excited to make that our regular place.

Then our check came. Upon looking at the Facebook page of The Field House, it says that their happy hour included 2-for-1 drafts. Upon arriving at the restaurant, there is a sign that states 2-for-1 drafts. Upon being welcomed by our server, we are again told the special is 2-for-1 drafts. No restrictions are mentioned. I proceeded to order craft beers expecting that they would be included in the deal.

When we received our check my beers were all full price, which is when I was told by my server that the deal only included domestic drafts. My server agreed that this was confusing and got the manager to handle the situation. This is where things went from bad to worse.

The manager, Ash, approached our table and proceeded to explain to me that “it was 2-for-1 drafts, but they did not say which drafts.” He made this statement with an incredible amount of smugness as if he had tricked me into getting full price beers. As if his misleading advertisement worked and he was happy about it. Ash made no offers to make corrections to the check, because apparently it was my fault for not asking to clarify the specials they advertised.

To be clear, I was not that upset with the confusion and had the check been cleared up this one time I would have loved to come back and get domestic drafts. But because Ash chose to treat me the way he did and for choosing to not take the $8 off my check I will refuse to go back here. I will not support a business that benefits him.

Re: “Ms. Kellis Karaoke Bar

I'm writing this review as a current employee and former regular. Never in my life have I experienced a bar quite like Ms. Kelli's. It has it's hi's and lows, but most of all it's an amazing and fantastical place. Between the amazing patrons who come through, whether it be to sing or just to hang out, and the amazing family of staff there, I can honestly say I have found my home. We have a good time, and that's the bottom line. I won't address any negative experiences because , well it's karaoke, there's always going to be something lol, but I will say this, I would recommend this bar over any other to everyone I know. Trust me, I already have.

Re: “Coyote Ugly Saloon

10 minutes for a drink in an empty bar with 3 bartender! Not entertaining just standing & texting. Rude door guy! Overpriced gift shop even for a tourist area.

Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

Downtown Nashville is an awesome place for live music, but surprisingly there aren't just too many barbecue joints to pick from. Jack's has a prominent place on Broadway (Nashville's main drag), and although their 'que is delicious, the line usually stretches halfway to the Cumberland River. I found Rippy's across the street and hoped it would be good, too. Fingers crossed.

Not to be outdone, Rippy's had live music going tonight. The old 90s country was actually really good. Nashville is the kind of city where it's not at all unusual to see folks two-stepping in the middle of a restaurant. All in all, this place had a really pleasant atmosphere.

I ordered a Half Portion Dinner (6 bones) of Rippy's Signature Ribs. The ribs come with two sides, so I picked potato salad and onion rings. The menu didn't specify whether the ribs were wet or dry, but I hoped for the latter.

The potato salad was nice and creamy. It had a great flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crunch from the pickles, etc. I also liked that the mustard base wasn't overpowering. The onion rings looked fresh rather than frozen. They had a great batter and were fried nice and golden. This was an excellent pick for a side dish.

Much to my delight, the ribs came with a dry rub. I was able to cut them apart with minimal effort, suggesting that they were slightly overdone. They had a great smoke level, which matched perfectly with the evident smoke ring. My main issue with the ribs was the inconsistency. The first bite was fairly spicy, coupled with just a touch of sweetness. It was also decently tender. Other bites were more bland and weren't spicy at all, and the meat nearest the center was a bit dry. I was surprised to find so many differences in only seven inches of meat.

Rippy's wasn't the best barbecue I've ever had, but it was certainly passable. I'd go back for the drinks and music, although I'd likely order a burger instead.

Re: “Pizza Perfect

Best Pizza anywhere in town. Love the pizza... the calzones, ravioli, and great customer service... make you feel like family.

Re: “360 Burger

Their burgers are delicious and fries are great, but the customer service sucks. Waiters and waitresses are too busy engrossed in personal conversation, hanging out, to check on customers. They're bringing this place down. It could have longevity if not for the wait staff.

Re: “Bobby's Idle hour

Best bar in Nashville! The locals at this bar are the friendliest and funniest group I've met. Felt like I was walking into a friend's living room rather than into a bar I've never been in before. Love the vibe, the people and the music!

Re: “Soulshine Pizza Factory

Hard to beat Soulshine overall. Food is pretty good and prices are too. Music almost every night and no cover charge. Good selection of beer and huge 2nd story outdoor patio. One of my faves and you never know who you might see jammin' in there (from celebrities to up and coming new blues rock artists). One of the best spots in Midtown for sure.

Re: “Starlite Club

Wondering if anyone has any old pictures they would share of the Starlite Club or of Jerry Wheeler? My dad Jerry Wheeler started the first Rock N Roll band in Nashville in the 1950's and he always performed here at the Starlite. If anyone has any pictures that they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated and my email address is Shores19811961@gmail.com Thanks

Re: “820 Showcase

Pretty legit, imo!

I just can't believe they didn't get shut down with the rest of the massage parlors/FLOP houses. They do have the best value in town, though it depends on what you want?

Re: “Ms. Kellis Karaoke Bar

Great Bar, Amazing and wonderful staff, and Owners!!!!!!!!!! I give Kelli's a 5 STAR rating because the service is amazing, the atmosphere is spectacular, and the music/audio sound showcased is excellent. I am proud to say "I LOVE THIS BAR"......
I moved to Nashville, TN back in February and ever since then I have been to several bars around town on my free time. Some complaints I have had: Some bars have pour quality sound systems, Some bars have very rude staff, Some bars need to clean up a little bit more than twice daily, Some bars need more room to groove or sit, and Some bars need a little more happy in the air!!!! :) Overall most of the bars around town have some flavor of greatness, but Kelli's is one of the few Impressive, and Outstanding Bars In my Professional Opinion!!!

Sincerely with warm regards Joshua A. McCartney. Singer songwriter, and professional Actor.

Re: “Smeraldo's

Great home made pasta, sausage, cheese, spices and sauces. Authentic Italian Food made with pride by the owner Biagio Sosta. They purchased the club in 1983 and everything has been well-kept and clean with retro 70's decor which makes it unique. Currently you can hear classic-country and oldies on Saturday's with the Grand Ole Legends Show hosted by 'Sunshine' Brenda Cole with Cliff 'Moondog' Garrow on guitar and David Thain on keys. They also play original music from their cd's. The service is great! There is no cover but there is a one drink minimum and a cash bar except for large purchases. A classy place to eat with old retro charm and family style hospitality.
