Re: “J. Alexander's

The oak brook Il, restaurant has issue with the manager 12-02-14 time 2:55pm
I asked the manager if he could try to quiet down the table with 8 adults who were shouting and acting like they were at a football game. The manager said that they would be leaving soon. He did not go to that table and say anything to them about the noise.
This continued for the next 40 minutes that we were there. I felt that the manager was happy to make money of the alcohol that they were al drinking and to hell with all the rest of the customers in the restaurant.

Re: “The Station Inn

We went in to see some great country music but instead former SNL performer and now local fat disgusting rightwing nutjob Victoria Jackson was hoisted on us.

She sang an unbelievably offensive 'song' about the President being a communist, along with every other usual slur including the birther nonsense. I don't know what was more offensive, her lunacy, the band bringing her up there, or the audience laughing at it.

When I said something to the sound guy, he said "If you don't like it, there's the door."

DO NOT support this ridiculous venue with your money. There are many great music in venues in Nashville that will not hoist this disgusting nonsense on you.

Re: “Chad's Winter Wonderland Christmas Drive-Thru

The thing that I did not like is you get in and it is advertising after advertising. For 15 bucks a car and more than an hour wait....the last thing I want to see are miniature billboards advertising businesses. You would think they made enough not to do that.

Re: “Salsa Puerto Rican and Latin Cuisine

Incredible cuisine and and even better atmosphere. The live music was impressive, and a welcome respite from the usual Nashville honky tonk, vanilla noise.

Re: “Norman Couser's Country Cookin'

Norman Couser's restaurant provides true homemade southern food. The restaurant has been in Nashville for over 30+. Also, it sits directly across from the Nashville Zoo (which is a plus). This restaurant is certainly where the locals go - the staff knows their customers by name and I laughed that some customers have particular tables they go sit at. It appears that Couser's does mostly to-go orders for locals as well. The inside isn't anything fancy or spectacular, but the restaurant is a classic meat-n-three. I highly recommend trying the turkey & dressing, country-fried steak, mashed potatoes, or fried okra. For dessert, their chocolate pie and cherry cobbler are delicious! I do not go there for the decor, but instead, for fantastic homemade dishes and friendly staff. They treat you like family.

Re: “The Henpeck Market

While the food at the Henpeck Market is a standout for the area, the service is deplorable. One would expect to be enveloped in southern hospitality as sweet as the iced tea, but not here. It is as if your presence is a nuisance to the hostess and waitresses and they go out of their way to avoid eye contact with you. It is truly a shame as the food is stellar. From the daily hot bar preparations to the menu items, everything is flavorful, well prepared, and seasoned perfectly. If you are not ready to bolt out the door from the poor service at the end of your meal, the desserts are amazing. They are a throwback to exact replicas of what your grandma made. Sweet, prepared with love, and tasty. Too bad that the service doesn't match the food. It if did, you likely would have to wait in line for hours just to get in this place.

Re: “Dotson's Restaurant

I have looked forward to eating at Dotson's for some time now. Unfortunately, my 1st experience was less than pleasant. The cornbread dressing tasted like it was spoiled and there was a piece of a paper wrapper in my mashed potatoes. When these things were brought to the attention of our waitress there was no interest expressed in making it right. I won't be back.

Re: “Antonios' of Nashville

On the advice of a local (who takes her family here often) we tried Antonios. From the condescending "I'll see if there is any place to seat you" after replying that we didn't have a reservation to the poor service and long wait for our food our dinner was a disaster. Our wait person was perky and knowledgeable taking our order. Salads were brought as ordered. We sat, and sat and sat. After 25 minutes she came back to tell us our dinners would be out in 2 minutes. Another 15 minutes later the manager came by and said our dinners would be right out. Another 15 minutes later it was, with 5 steak knives for 2 steaks as if that made things right. We ate our average meals and sat while staff walked by our table, not picking up our dishes on their way to the kitchen. We should have gotten up and walked out, paying the manager as we left. She came with the dessert tray (!) and I asked for the bill. After another 10 minutes waiting for my credit card to be picked up we put on our coats and she came running over. I asked her what the problems were. She said everything was OK. I stopped by to talk to the manager who told me it was the waitperson's fault for not turning in our ticket. I also talked to him about my experiences with staff who help each other out-or not as is the case in this place. He told me he hoped we would come back again. Why would we when there are so many other wonderful places to eat where they treat you like a valued customer instead of the red headed step child? We were at a workshop so there are now 13 people and their friends and family who will be spreading the word that this is a place to avoid.

Re: “Regal Providence Stadium 14

This theater only has two good large screens, the smaller rooms have very inadequate sound systems, voices feel like they are through a pillow sometimes in these. The AC and ambiance is not quiet either. They do not pride themselves in AV quality like their competition in other cities.

Re: “Regal Hollywood 27

For the Memphisnative and zerankis coments.Do you know or care what the bad guy could put in a clear plastic bottle that looks just like water, obviously not.Read the signs on the front doors before you enter an establishment .
( dumb as a rock HA.).
Secondly, MemNative, you got your head up your ASS ,you don't know the difference between Police and or other Security do ya.The management of the business has the absolute right to search any and all back packs and or purses at anytime so deemed fit,and the security personnel at such a post would and do have absolute authority over such polices, so go and whine about rights to some of the folks who were in a theater when some asshole that came into a theater with a UNCHECK bag or purse and pulled out a weapon of some sort and let HELL rain down on unsuspecting patrons. Screw you and your feelings.

Re: “Norman Couser's Country Cookin'

Ate there twice during recent visit to Nashville--lunch and supper. Same menu for both; same friendly staff and from-scratch cooking. Pleasing alternative to Cracker Barrel.

Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

I found several choices for a pulled pork sandwich walking the streets of Nashville. Same for live entertainment. I selected Rippy's because of the music coming from 3 guys playing acoustic guitar that was drifting from the inviting open front. There was a female signing on the rooftop too, but I never made it upstairs. Food A+, service was quick, friendly, music was good, and everyone was accommodating. Perfect choice for that beautiful Sunday afternoon.
