Re: “Ryman Auditorium

The Quebe Sisters Band was the finest performance I've ever heard in listening to the Opry since the 1950s, especially their concluding encore, that fantastic Texas Breakdown fiddle piece. Have them back OFTEN !! They deserve all praise, publicity, and help they can get. They will help keep Texas on the map, so to speak. Only one word suffices to describe their performance: Fantastic. In every way. Thank you for sharing them with all of us, and special thanks to Marty Stuart and Connie Smith, and anyone else associated with having them perform ath the Opry. The QSB lends a new, fresh, and decidedly Country and Texas Swing sound to the Opry. And the standing ovation they got a week ago Friday says more than I can ever say. Thank you. And God Bless the Quebe Sisters and the Opry. John Huntley, Hastings, MI

Re: “Gallery One

I love this gallery in Belle Meade Galleria (across from Le Peep restaurant). Though I have not had an opportunity to purchase artwork from Gallery One, I have attended many of the artist receptions and have always been impressed with the quality of the artists represented here. Last night I attended the opening reception for a show entitled A River that was a benefit for the Harpeth River Watershed Association. There were works from over 30 artists, some from TN. Very nice!

Re: “Pie in the Sky

What a difference location can make. The "Pie" near Vandy has very poor service. The servers claimed they were confused as to was assigned to our table. How many times has a black person heard that? The pizza was overcooked and the thin crust was chewey. Wings were nuked to death. I'll drive to Cool Springs before I go there again.

What a difference location can make, the location near Vandy gave very poor service. Of course the waitresses said they were confused over who was assigned our table. How many times has a Black/African American heard that? Pizza was overcooked/dry. Crust was gooey. Wings were nuked to death with no flavor. I'll drive to Cool Springs before I eat there again.

Re: “Chappy's

Chappy's is delicious! Last week, I ordered the mahimahi and it was unbelieably good. Chappy himself walks around every night to all the tables to check on you and see if everything is okay. Very friendly and warm environment, a little expensive but definately worth the money. Also, a live jazz band that is really good plays in the open.

Re: “Wheel

Just visited Nashville for the first time. I went to The Wheel on Sunday from 2-6 to see Clue and The Honkytones! What a great show! If I lived in Nashville I would be there every Sunday to see them. It was one of the few places that wasn't empty. Also seem to have a balance of locals and tourists. Good times! Great sound and room to dance. TV is on if you want to watch the game too! Everyone was incredibly friendly, the bartender was terrific and attentive. If you are a smoker, you will be in heaven. Smoker Friendly. The bands rely on your tips, so don't forget to help them out!

Re: “Grimey's New & Preloved Music

Grimey's is exactly what you want in an indie store, great new/used selection, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and all in a funky old building. Although not as selective with their "preloved" stuff, they had plenty of other hard-to-find new CD/vinyl/DVD stuff to make up for it in pretty much every genre available. The staff happily indulged my neurotic T-shirt switching while I found my correct size, and looked up several CDs for me in the meantime. I happily recommend this great shop.

Re: “Ryman Auditorium

What a show!!! Steve has made the transition to musician! He hasn't left his comedy behind either. If you get the chance, go to this show. Nashville got a special treat with the appearance of Earl Scruggs. Thanks Steve! You Too Mr. Scruggs!

Re: “Nashville Public Library

The listing is not quite accurate--we do meet once a month, but it's not always the first Saturday. Please check the Nashville Shakespeare Festival website for correct dates! www.nashvilleshakes.org This is an enriching, casual community gathering. All are welcome! Come read aloud or read along, and bring your own copy, if you have one! =Denice Hicks, Artistic Director The Nashville Shakespeare Festival

Re: “Centennial Park

For a free party this will be AWESOME. I've been to some other parties by these guys and they are super relaxed with tons of great hand-picked music! If you are looking for some good remixes that are incredibly danceable/singable, you've found the right place!

Re: “PM

My date and I asked for a table outside last Friday. It was busy and the Hostess said it would be about 15-20 min. "Sounds great! We'll be at the bar". The Thai Tini was incredible. We were seated in less than 20 min. and our server Tina was the best!! She made great suggestions for our dinner which was delicious (The peanut sauce is awsome!) and she was very attentive and made our evening very delightfull!! Great place!! We will be back!! Thanks PM!!

Re: “Sheraton Music City Hotel

Such an incredibly talented, observant and smart super lady with great style. Pick out a tune and she'll know it and do it better than the original artist. We were there this past Friday and Saturday, heard her for the first time and we're now for sure a long distance fan.
