Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I'm glad there is a movie theater that don't cost a fortune and has a variety of movies. Once you purchase the bucket for popcorn, the refill is only 3.50 and it is huge! They are also nice enough to make us some salt free popcorn as I have hypertension. I love this place!

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I can't believe it's only $1.50. It's really clean and nice and I'm glad I gave it a try. We're going back this weekend as a matter of fact. I'm waiting for some other movies to come here to save a few bucks. Can't beat it. There used to be a $1 theatre where I lived previously, glad to see one here.

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I chose this theater to break in my grandson. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving halfway through a movie with a child who couldn't sit through an entire movie after paying $20 to get in. They have recovered seats and updated the theater recently and there is a really nice atmosphere. As others mentioned potential safety issues in the area, I've never been afraid when there and find that the parking lot is well lit. Give this theater a try.

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

Moveis range from 7.50 for day to 10.50 for a night show. I have no problem waiting a few weeks after the movie is out to spend 1.50 to see a movie. Theres always at least one I want to see and it makes an event with the kids or a date night affordable. I LOVE it. P.S Who cares if its not the Ritz... Its a buck fifty!

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I must admit that I was skeptical about going to this theater, but after reading the posted reviews, we decided to give it a try. To my surprise, not only did we enjoy our movie, Zookeeper, but we were highly impressed with the interior of this theater. From the hallways, to the carpet and actual movie seats, we were very proud of our decision. Our kids and their friend also enjoyed the movie very much. As of 10/3/11, I proudly give this theater a 5-star rating. Keep up the good work guys!

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

I love this movie theater. I thought it would be run down and dingy. What could I expect for $1.50? It is in great shape. They also have a security patrol riding though the parking lot. I have seen two movies there in the last month. It a great way to treat your family to a movie, and not break the bank. It was clean and enjoyable. My son loves it. My 19 year daughter uses it as a affordable activity to hang out with her friends.

Re: “Carmike Hickory 8

There's always at least one movie there I had wanted to see but could not afford. Theaters feel like small town theaters with wide aisles and simply on a slant, no stairs. From the times I've been, the workers have been very nice and the entire place including bathrooms have been clean. Also, I have gone a lot at night when people deem it "unsafe" and have never felt in harms way. Ever. Great price, great atmosphere. Give it a chance. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Re: “Regal Opry Mills 20 & IMAX

I miss this theatre!!! It's unfortunate that the flood forced this theatre to close! It was my favorite and I really am longing for the IMAX to return! It can't reopen fast enough for me! I loved it!

Re: “Ryman Auditorium

The Quebe Sisters Band was the finest performance I've ever heard in listening to the Opry since the 1950s, especially their concluding encore, that fantastic Texas Breakdown fiddle piece. Have them back OFTEN !! They deserve all praise, publicity, and help they can get. They will help keep Texas on the map, so to speak. Only one word suffices to describe their performance: Fantastic. In every way. Thank you for sharing them with all of us, and special thanks to Marty Stuart and Connie Smith, and anyone else associated with having them perform ath the Opry. The QSB lends a new, fresh, and decidedly Country and Texas Swing sound to the Opry. And the standing ovation they got a week ago Friday says more than I can ever say. Thank you. And God Bless the Quebe Sisters and the Opry. John Huntley, Hastings, MI

What a show!!! Steve has made the transition to musician! He hasn't left his comedy behind either. If you get the chance, go to this show. Nashville got a special treat with the appearance of Earl Scruggs. Thanks Steve! You Too Mr. Scruggs!

Re: “Nashville Public Library

The listing is not quite accurate--we do meet once a month, but it's not always the first Saturday. Please check the Nashville Shakespeare Festival website for correct dates! www.nashvilleshakes.org This is an enriching, casual community gathering. All are welcome! Come read aloud or read along, and bring your own copy, if you have one! =Denice Hicks, Artistic Director The Nashville Shakespeare Festival
