Re: “Joe's Place

I like this bar. It hasn't really changed that much unlike the rest of Green Hills and I love that. I grew up in this area and I'm sick of all the new changes to EVERYTHING but this is a nice escape from all of that. I actually went to highschool with one of the main bartenders so I usually see old friends of mine there. You can smoke inside, the food is great and I do enjoy the karaoke nights (I don't sing but I like watching) :)
*not expensive, quick service, friendly people

Re: “Brewhouse 100

Terrible place and would not go back again! Band was way too loud to where we couldn't hear each other at the table and my steak, which I ordered medium-well when I cut into it, released bloody red juice inside. The waitress gave me an attitude saying I had ordered it medium rare when I didn't and everyone at the table clearly heard me say that! I know it won't be a place on the list to go to again!

Re: “Brewhouse 100

Brewhouse used to be one of my family's favorite restaurants to enjoy. We'd go every Thursday for trivia. The food was all right, but we'd always go back for the good service. Unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worst. When things got crowded and the wait was up to 30 mins-1 hr, the hostess sat back and let people cut in line and sit wherever they wanted -- with total disregard for those waiting in line. When we expressed this concern to the manager, they didn't seem to care. Disappointed to say we'll never be returning.

Re: “Bailey's Sports Grille

I live in Florida and have been going to Bailey's for the past five years and looking forward to my yearly trip. I attend the CMA fest and Bailey;s was the first place I went to the very first time I visited Nashville. I only have good things to say. the food is good and always consistant. and the service is always friendly, I have never had a probelm there, All I can say is see you next month can.t wait.

Re: “12South Taproom

The Taproom has elements of the ideal beer bar, but the full package still eludes Nashville.

The good:

-Variegated selection, especially if you like West Coast beers
-Decent local representation

The bad:

-Imbalanced regional representation (Too much GA, not enough NC/VA)
-Overpriced and forgettable food. This tends to be a problem with beer bars because it's a good business model: get a couple beers down your patrons' gullets and their standards are lower, so you don't have to try as hard. Can't say I blame them.
-Overwhelming noise inside

What to fix:

-Make good use of the real ale rig and serve more cask beer
-Cut food prices 15% or step up your game
-Do something about the noise inside: Quieter music, acoustic panels, rugs, etc.

Some good other suggestions below

Re: “Dalton's Grill

The food is great! I recently went there and the food is keeping me coming back regularly so far altho the price is a little high. But I must say the service is slow. The waitresses are slow, the kitchen is slow, and the bartender is slow to cash you out. Otrherwise I wouldve given them a 5 instead of 4. I could work circles around those waitresses

Re: “The Station Inn

We went in to see some great country music but instead former SNL performer and now local fat disgusting rightwing nutjob Victoria Jackson was hoisted on us.

She sang an unbelievably offensive 'song' about the President being a communist, along with every other usual slur including the birther nonsense. I don't know what was more offensive, her lunacy, the band bringing her up there, or the audience laughing at it.

When I said something to the sound guy, he said "If you don't like it, there's the door."

DO NOT support this ridiculous venue with your money. There are many great music in venues in Nashville that will not hoist this disgusting nonsense on you.

Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

I found several choices for a pulled pork sandwich walking the streets of Nashville. Same for live entertainment. I selected Rippy's because of the music coming from 3 guys playing acoustic guitar that was drifting from the inviting open front. There was a female signing on the rooftop too, but I never made it upstairs. Food A+, service was quick, friendly, music was good, and everyone was accommodating. Perfect choice for that beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Re: “Rippy's Smokin' Bar & Grill

Downtown Nashville is an awesome place for live music, but surprisingly there aren't just too many barbecue joints to pick from. Jack's has a prominent place on Broadway (Nashville's main drag), and although their 'que is delicious, the line usually stretches halfway to the Cumberland River. I found Rippy's across the street and hoped it would be good, too. Fingers crossed.

Not to be outdone, Rippy's had live music going tonight. The old 90s country was actually really good. Nashville is the kind of city where it's not at all unusual to see folks two-stepping in the middle of a restaurant. All in all, this place had a really pleasant atmosphere.

I ordered a Half Portion Dinner (6 bones) of Rippy's Signature Ribs. The ribs come with two sides, so I picked potato salad and onion rings. The menu didn't specify whether the ribs were wet or dry, but I hoped for the latter.

The potato salad was nice and creamy. It had a great flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crunch from the pickles, etc. I also liked that the mustard base wasn't overpowering. The onion rings looked fresh rather than frozen. They had a great batter and were fried nice and golden. This was an excellent pick for a side dish.

Much to my delight, the ribs came with a dry rub. I was able to cut them apart with minimal effort, suggesting that they were slightly overdone. They had a great smoke level, which matched perfectly with the evident smoke ring. My main issue with the ribs was the inconsistency. The first bite was fairly spicy, coupled with just a touch of sweetness. It was also decently tender. Other bites were more bland and weren't spicy at all, and the meat nearest the center was a bit dry. I was surprised to find so many differences in only seven inches of meat.

Rippy's wasn't the best barbecue I've ever had, but it was certainly passable. I'd go back for the drinks and music, although I'd likely order a burger instead.

Re: “Joe's Place

My friends and I have been here quite a few times for karaoke and have had a good time. We had let slide, the bartender being rude to us a few times cause we had fun while we were here but it's gotten out of hand. Last night, the bartender actually told my friend that "if he didn't tip her, she wasn't going to serve him", but this was when he went and ordered his first drink. She eventually started telling everyone at the bar that we weren't tipping her(even though I had already left her a dollar for each beer I had). I went up to pay my last tab and heard everyone around me talking about one of the guys I was with, talking about he wasn't going to get any more beer. He wasn't even drunk. Next thing I knew, we were being recorded on someone's phone while he called us "non tipping mother fu*kers". I went and said something to them and the girl got up and was arguing with me. Then the guy who works there, threw me in a choke hold(keep in mind I'm 5'2). I ended up punching a guy who told me "I was a dead motherfu*cker", then I was grabbed by the throat, again, by the guy who works there and escorted out. Needless to say, My friends and I will never be back to this bar. I don't know how they are able to have such rude service.

Re: “Brewhouse West

So apparently if you are gay then you are not welcome here at all. Twice now I have been told I have to leave because of my sexual orientation. I have not bothered anyone else, nor have I forced my beliefs on anyone because I believe everyone has their right to their own opinion. I can not say I have had a good experience here ever. Some of the staff are okay but overall the faculty are assholes who will not listen to a thing you say to defend yourself and try to make matters easy. Instead they will tell you that you have to leave because of your orientation. This place is a close minded faction that I can only hope will be closed down soon because of their mindless opinions.

Re: “Joe's Place

If you haven't been to Joe's in a while head over and give them another shot! They've completely redone their menus. They now feature speciality craft cocktails and food made in house from scratch! Only bar in Green Hills that has karaoke as well!
