Re: “Jefferson Street Missionary Baptist Church

I have attended this church for the last four years. The warmth, love and acceptance I have experienced as a white man in a predominantly black congregation has been my salvation. This church accepted me when "my own people" had rejected. I grew up a minister's son in a Southern Baptist church, a denomination formed in protest to the abolition of slavery, so the full circle is ironic. As a result of my upbringing I know exceptional theological teaching. Pastor Thomas is not only one of the greatest orators I've witnessed, but is a phenomenal theologian. Bible Study under his tutelage is priceless. Danny Tate

Re: “Midtown Fellowship Church

they lost me at their web site with infant baptistm, which apparently they practice, but don't explain on their web site WHY -- apparently you have to go by their church to get the information on that. I also don't get the point of planting congregations in a city that is overflowing with churches of all denominations. If someone is Christian or curious in this city, they should not have a problem finding a church. Why do we need yet more? It's crazy IMO

Re: “Glendale United Methodist Church

If you are new to the area, looking for something different, don't have a background of going to church or anywhere in between, we welcome you to Glendale. This is a faith community that includes people of many diverse backgrounds and faith journeys, single & married, old & young.

We come together in worship, fellowship & small groups to grow together, be in service to the community & seek the next steps in this life journey we call our faith.

"No matter who you are or where you've been, you are welcome here" are words that exemplify the spirit at Glendale. Come as you are this Sunday at 11am as we celebrate the life, death & resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Re: “Glendale United Methodist Church

This neighborhood church in the middle of the city is where life is renewed to connect with daily experience. We welcome people as they are, grow together, listen for God’s direction, and go forth stronger. We are followers of Jesus who try to live His example of connecting inner life with active life in the 21st century.

Worship at Glendale creates opportunities to meet and respond to God. We gather in anticipation that God may speak through scripture, music, prayer and the gift of one another. Come and join an authentic community seeking to share sacred time and space through worship.

Looking for a place to actively engage, genuinely connect and be deeply challenged? We believe God in Christ uses worship to change lives. Join us on the journey each Sunday @ 11:00.
