Re: “The Original Nooley's

Roast Beef Poboy is almost impossible to find here in Nashville and it did not disappoint. Of course, they can't get the fabulous bread used in New Orleans but otherwise, it was a very close resemblance to my Roast Beef Poboy from Johnny's. Can't wait to go back!

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

As a New Orleans native, I sincerely enjoyed and appreciated Ri'chard's Cafe'. There are a few restaurants dishing up Cajun, Southern and Creole cuisine in the Nashville Area but Ri'chard's offers "Langiappe"! That's French for, "A little bit extra". The food is delicious and the atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Richard Trest, the owner, is a working owner. Along side his restaurant staff, he cooks, cashiers brings food to the tables and even sits in with live bands contributing his awesome guitar playing or slapping the cajon but that's still not all! Richard is an accomplished musician himself and enjoys performing his own music for his patrons. It's all part of the experience expected and well-delivered at this establishment. Step into Ri'chard's Cafe' and find yourself in the deep south where the shrimp are frying and the file' gumbo is steaming. You may have just found your new kitchen-away-from-home! I did!

Re: “Steamboat Bill's [Closed]

I take my family to this place every week. We love it and know all the people who work there. The crawfish is outstanding as is the catfish and gumbo. Bill takes personal care of the products and the preparation. We highly recommend this restaurant. It IS the real deal in Cajun food.

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

This place rocks. The food and music are great. The service is excellent. They have a treasure chest full of toys for the little ones. Richard the owner is originally from Louisiana and knows his Cajun cooking. They are also open on Saturdays from 12:30 to 9:00 so you can enjoy lunch and listen to some great up and coming writers at the Songwriters showcase hosted by Gary Cavanaugh. Some no. 1 writers have been known to drop in! Aieee and great etouffee!!

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

Our favorite local restaurant! Best & friendlist staff in town - including Nashville! Wonderful food but the atmosphere is THE BEST. Great original music. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Where we like to go to just be ourselves and relax and enjoy some good food. Thanks for coming to Whites Creek!

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

This is my favorite restaurant in all of the Nashville area. The food is delicious and well-priced. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxed. I've been to Ri'chard's several times and I've never been disappointed in the food or the service. This is one place you need to go!

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

Boy oh man do I love me some Ri'Chard's! What a great place to dine. I have tried a bunch of the items from the menu and loved them all. My favorite is the Red Beans and Rice. .... and the Jambalaya and the Fried Pickles and the Fried Mushrooms and the Shrimp Creole and the Muffalettas and the funky snosage and the po boys and the ... well you get the point. The wait staff is not only beautiful but friendly and fun. The cooks know what dey doin too! The music is always a delight. Home grown singer songwriters. All original music, which is refreshing. The owner, Richard Trest is a good good man and loves to entertain the crowd throughout the day and evening. R'Chard's = one of the bright spots of Nashville.

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

I was in Nashville and visited Richard's. As a Louisiana Native I know good cajun food, and they have it! The atmosphere and service was great also. A must visit for anyone who wants to Lassaiz les bons temps rouler

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

Okay - I admit - I have a long-standing love affair with Jambalaya. When I go to New Orleans I usually study the menu carefully and then order it at every restaurant that offers it. And I usually end up thinking, "Nice, but not as good as Ri'Chard's."

My other favorite thing about the place is that it's only 15 minutes from my house in Hillsboro Village, but it's like going to a different world out there in the green countryside. And when you get there, they greet you like family. It's a great example of why locally-owned places have it all over the corporate chains.

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

The food is authentic, and very well prepared, and I agree the atmosphere is fun, but the music is the feature at Richard's. Being a pretty fair songwriter himself, Richard has attracted pretty high level talent, to play in this intimate atmosphere. You never know who will see there, from touring acts, to hit songwriters, and a very interesting selection of up and coming writers as well. We get in there as often as we can.

Re: “Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill

Great food and atmosphere. I highly recommend it. I would get a hurricane to start off with. Blue Crab and Fried Green Tomatoes and Crab Claws for an appetizer. Then for an entree the Tilapia and Shrimp Rockefeller and shrimp and grits which are to die for. Finish off with the Bread Pudding or Fried Cheesecake.

Re: “Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill

I love this place, it is in my lunch rotation once a week. Granted the service in every restaurant in the Cool Springs area suffers when you go during rush hour, I avoid that.
The food on this place has been great every time, it is not the best Cajun food I have had but it is good enough to keep me going back. Prices are good, their food taste fresh including their breads.
We recently had dinner there with another couple and they loved it as well. Great option to have in Nashville.

Re: “Ri'Chard's Louisiana Cafe

Has to be one of the best kept secrets around. Great food at a fair price. Fun atmosphere with various singers on hand. And the owner is right there in the mix. Daughters took me for Father's Day and went back five days later. Loved it!

Re: “Steamboat Bill's [Closed]

Look I grew up in La... I've eaten seafood my whole life... This is the real deal. fresh seafood, the owner brings it back from La himself. boiled crawfish, fresh shucked oysters on the 1/2 shell, ettofee, gumbo, jambalaya, fried shrimp, oysters.. even frog legs. They have people who seem to be having a good time and still give great service. They have a "off the beaten path" place. it's off main street, like a mile down. Some stuff I like more than others... but it is all off the hook.... THANK GOODNESS I FOUND STEAMBOAT BILLS & My seafood hook up! It is really good food. Everyone Ive taken there loves it just as much as I do.... Hint Hint

Re: “Chappy's

Chappy's is delicious! Last week, I ordered the mahimahi and it was unbelieably good. Chappy himself walks around every night to all the tables to check on you and see if everything is okay. Very friendly and warm environment, a little expensive but definately worth the money. Also, a live jazz band that is really good plays in the open.

The real deal if you like coastal cooking at its best with Jambalya, Red Beans and Rice and a real good price. Tons of specials like Big Gulf Shrimp and some quality songwriters and bands. Come to have fun and bring the kids!
