Re: “Athens Family Restaurant

The food was fresh and very good. Nice server and we felt we were in a clean place. We will go back. Sorry to hear folks were treated poorly.

Re: “Athens Family Restaurant

Our first visit to Athens was on 7-14-2012 for lunch. We were sitted quickly very crowded. The food was great our server was a little slow. Waited to get a refill on my tea she finely came just before leaving. There was alot of flies around our table.

Re: “Athens Family Restaurant

The staff was terrible both times we went. They seem to be racist against interracial couples. My husband and I are a caucasian/latino couple. The first time, a waiter took our drink order and never brought them, another man had to ask us what we ordered and he went and got it. There was a party of 4 sitting close to us, 2 couples, all caucasian, they had the same waiter as us. He was very attentive to them, and also very friendly. He seemed to want nothing to do with us. There was barely any interaction at all other than to get our drinks, and food (which took forever). The second time we went at a different time on a different day to give it another chance, and yet again, We were the only people who were ignored the whole time. There was a caucasian couple, and a african american couple. They were both treated very well. But we received no refills, no checking if we needed anything. They literally threw our menus on the table, took our order, and gave us the ticket. No interaction in between, no clearing dishes, they didn't ask if we wanted anything else or dessert. They were unfriendly. The food is good, but not good enough to deal with being treated badly when everyone else around you is being treated well.

Re: “Gabby's Burgers & Fries

I have been to Gabbys several times over the past couple of months and have enjoyed it every time! The burgers are great. Very friendly staff, limited seating and hours so get there at lunch time... Wasabi mayo, sweet potato fries and delicious desert bars... You cannot go wrong here..

Re: “Athens Family Restaurant

This was our first time visiting this location and we told that to the server. We were going for lunch and the food was really good. We ordered a combo platter so that we could try a few things. Our server just seemed like we were a bother to her. She gave me tea and then never refilled it again and even gave me an empty cup when I asked for my tea to go. We asked for a side of sauce that never came, but she still tried to charge it on our bill. She never interacted with our children either, which was bad for a "family restaurant". It was really sad, because a lot of those little things really add up. The food was really tasty as long as you don't mind bad service.

Re: “Athens Family Restaurant

My first visit to Athen's will most definitely be my last. I know that things happen and I am perfectly fine with that fact but a simple apology would go a long way. I went in for lunch 8/4/8 and ordered a gyro and a drink. When I opened the sandwich I found a nice, big, greasy looking hair stuck to my pickle. I motioned for one of the waitresses to come to my table. When I pointed out the hair I got no response. Not a single word! The young lady simply took my sandwich and passed it back through the window to the kitchen. I approached the counter and simply asked for a refund. As my hairy sandwich made its way back to the kitchen what appeared to be the donor of the hair in question simply asked the silent young waitress "So, what does he want another pickle!" All I would have asked for was "I am so sorry" or let me get you another sandwich, or Ohh Crap not again! That would have been much better than the non-response received from the waitstaff and the smart remark from the grease monkey in the back.
