Re: “Sip Cafe

On a hot afternoon, swing by here and grab some delicious Mikes Ice cream. They have a fun variety of flavors... may I suggest coffee and red velvet cake! Super rich and creamy! Small cups start at $3.50

This cute little coffee shop also offers some local art to enjoy while waiting line, and if you like it, at home. It's right next to Mitchell Delicatessen and within walking distance of a few other cool vintage/artsy shops.

Re: “Fido

Great food, Great atmosphere, good service. Definitively recommend to anyone. Finally a healthy restaurant that's not seriously overpriced.

Frothy Monkey is the BEST of 2012 and every year after. Awesome people and wonderful atmosphere

Re: “Frothy Monkey

I'm in love with the Frothy Monkey. Friendly service, good food, and WiFi. Definitely has the coffee shop feel with chalkboard specials and early morning hours. I recommend the cider, the Nathan, and the soft chocolate chip cookies. I will return as always, and have yet to have a bad experience. Crossing my fingers.

Re: “Hot & Cold

This place just simply rocks. Fido has always been a staple for coffee in Hillsboro Village, and one might suppose there wasn't a need for another one. However, this small lil espresso bar packs more than a powerful punch with its creatively served offerings. Friendly (yes, they REALLY are) baristas take good care of patrons with coffee beverages (a few of the same items from its next door canine sister), by-the-cup tea, as well as Las Paletas and Jeni's Ice Cream. You MUST try the Olive Sinclair magic shell on your ice cream, or for that matter, just go ahead and take a dark chocolate SHOT too!!

Re: “Wild Bill's Beignets & Bikes [Closed]

This guy is as shady as they come. Does not pay any of his employees. He splits the servers and bartenders tips with the cooks, himeslf, and sometimes his wife
He has worked a friend of mine as many as 18 hours a day and did not even want to pay her
$2.13 an hour. He closes when he seems to know when the health department is coming and closes for the entire day to clean. At $5.50 for a btl. Of beer you would think that someone besides him was getting paid. (He splits tipshare with himself and his wife? ??)

Re: “Wild Bill's Beignets & Bikes [Closed]

This place is working people and not paying them. They are operating the roof top deck with any running water, no way for employees to wash their hands. The food is completely overpriced... 15 bucks for a chicken finger basket. This place sucks. DO NOT EVER GO HERE

Re: “Cafe Coco

I've had the pasta and burgers here, and they're both really good. The atmosphere is pretty nice and laid back - definitely more towards a younger college-aged crowd. You can sometimes feel a little unwelcome from some of the patrons if you don't fit into the normal customer group, but I've never felt that from the service. It's a good place if you're really hungry at night because it is open 24 hours, but the area is a little scary if you have to park too far from the restaurant.

Re: “Frothy Monkey

Most of the food was mediocre at best.I did see the GFS truck out back. The food was getting really fine then all of a sudden the muffins were life OTIS SPUNKMEYER'S.What a shame .I thought I had found a place like I was used to in the midwest with honest baking and ingredients. Wont go back to a place gpoing backwards.

Re: “Sky Blue Coffee & Bistro

One of the things I always miss about Asheville, NC, is the Sunny Point diner. The first time I ate at Sky Blue, I couldn't believe the similarities. I am thrilled that this cafe exists on the east side! Note: Sky Blue does, in fact, serve alcohol.
