I am sorry the previous reviewer had such a bad experience, but we like August Moon. It's not phenomenal, but it's good. One of our favorites is the pork with black bean sauce. We get take-out from there a few times a month.
This place sucks... last time I ordered Beef and Broccoli and got this soupy mess that was watered down. The rice tasted pretty bad as well. I would definitely head down to brentwood and go to No. 1 Chinese instead.
Best Chinese Food in Nashville. I live in East Nashville, but every time when I crave for Chinese Food, I drove all the way to Chinatown in Green Hills to satisfy my craving. Food quality is consistent every time, service is NO.1, price is very reasonable for upscale Green Hills. I know many of my friends who live in East Nashville eat at Chinatown at a regular basis. There is just no other good Chinese restaurant in East Nashville
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant. Not only is the food great and reasonably priced, but the service is even better (if that is possible). I would recommend this place and I will certainly be back myself.
The food was delicious. The prices were great. I left very satisfied and well taken care of. Enjoyed the experience and will be back.
I thoroughly enjoy Watanabe for the service and the food. I always order panoply of sushi. I usually order too much, but I like having my own personal buffet. Their fish is top shelf! It’s the only sushi restaurant in Nashville that has real crab and Copper River Salmon. Even the more expensive sushi houses in town don’t offer real crab on their menu, and that automatically warrants a “B” review for them. I’ve indulged in some delicious daily specials – shrimp wontons with mango sauce to duck breast with cabbage in a red wine sauce. The drinks are amazing, with as much flare as Patterson House. The bartenders know how to make any drink you can think of; plus all the classics. They make their own syrups and also have an excellent sake selection. I’ve always had excellent service at Watanabe, and the bartenders are the friendliest in town.
Well, my search continues for the best Chinese in Nashville. I thought that from their awards and other reviews I had read that this may be it, but I was saddly dissapointed. I don't judge a place on looks so I will leave that alone, but the food was not up to standards. As it was my first venture at this place, I started with the staples: General tso's, fried rice, egg drop soup. The other three in my group had similar standard items. NONE of us came close to finishing our meals. The sauces tasted as if they had scraped the bottom of a 5 gallon drum of generic sauce they bought from Walmart. Egg drop soup was equally disappointing. Even the ice in our drinks tasted gross. Needless to say, I will never go back.
love shrimp teryaki mmmmm so good!

The atmosphere and decoration of Watanabe are nice and new looking. The service was not bad, but it wasn't necessarily good. The food and drinks came in good time, but the server just seemed to be dreading his time there. The food was bad. I have pork fried rice in February. In that rice were fava beans and corn. Those ingredients lead me to believe they are frozen. It was underseasoned, and just did taste like a nine dollar bowl of fried rice. Potstickers were okay, didn't appear to be made in house.

just wanted to comment. i started eating at kien jiang yrs ago and when ms saigon opened i went back and forth between the two. my fave is pork vermicilli and the fresh spring rolls. personally, i like mine the best, but preparation is time consuming.
having chosen ms saigon a while back because they have many vegetables, mint and lean pork, alas, they were tonite. tried kj again. fatty pork, no bean sprouts, and almost no mint.
love saigon, and they have recently totally renovated their interior............beutiful and warm.!!!!!!!!

Re: “Chinatown Restaurant”
Terrible service. Waited over 45 minutes for our food. Food had little flavor.
