I cannot understand how this place is still open. My first experience was not very good at all. The food was "warm" at best and felt like most things had already been prepared beforehand and plated as it was ordered. It was not crowded at all.. There were maybe 1-2 other tables occupied. A few months go by and I told myself I would give it one more shot. Worse than the first time. Food was cold, way too expensive for what you get and almost empty again! it just doesn't taste good to me. I will not go back here ever again.

Expensive for bbq and not that good. This place is now a tourist attraction due to the Neely's being on Food Network.. Do not waste your time if you are local and want good bbq. Go to Martin's in Nolensville. It is worth the drive.

The WORST + most over priced restaurant in Nashville. $90 for 2 waters, 2 cold pasta dinners and a pizza dinner ??? Go to Valentino's instead. Don't set foot in Giovanni Ristorante. Ever. 1. They brought dinners 1 minute after setting pizza appetizer on table. Two $25 pasta dinners sat cold as we ate the pizza. Pizza was good. 2. Pasta is lackluster and mediocre at best. HORRIBLE value. I realize you get what you pay for and better food is priced accordingly but this menu is so overpriced its offensive. I regularly eat at the best restaurants in town and this is definitely not one of them. 4. Want bread or rolls? Well you better ask because $25 pasta doesn't come with bread. At least ours didn't. 3. If you want to spend stupid money on dinner to impress a date or client, you're better off going to elsewhere. You'll look like a fool for taking them here. "A fool and his money are always parted" was meant for Giovanni Ristorante. NEVER EVER EAT AT GIOVANNI RISTORANTE IN NASHVILLE!

We had a horrible dining experience with the rude staff. We immediately felt rushed by Doug, our waiter, as he made the comment to our table that he was on a schedule. They hovered the table all night which I thought was great service until I realized the hovering was because they were rushing us out. Finally the extra rude man with the suprisingly outdated soccer haircut came to our table and asked us to leave because people were waiting on the table. Really?? Is this great customer service? You definitely should ask if your reservation is on a timeline because apparently our reservation had a timeline which was not communicated. A table for 8 and 1.5 hours in the resturant seems reasonable to me. Upon leaving another staff member ran to the parking lot to tell us she was sorry for the way her "socially dysfunctional" colleagues treated us. We will never go back there....I have had a few bad dining experiences but this one goes straight to the top. Way to go rude Doug and soccer haircut man!!

Dined at the Stockyard many years ago, and it was fabulous. Something has changed. Food was served cold. Cooked properly, just cold. When we complained, we were treated very rudely. Got no satisfaction. Will never go there again.

There is nothing at all unique or special about this restaurant, except to say that one could find better food in a jar of Spaghetti-O's. The pasta was ordered al dente but came out slimy & soggy. The sauce was very sweet and tasted like it was prepared by a rank amateur. The amount of pasta served barely covered the bottom of the plate and the price for it all was ridiculous. When I stated I did not like the pasta and wished to just pay for the salad, I was charged $6.00. Needless to say I will not return to this place anytime soon. Full blame for this is poor management and certainly not Sicilian. The cooks in the rear all spoke Spanish. Not a pretty sight.

This is another one of those “first class” establishments in Nashville that no longer deserves its reputation, if it ever did. I have lived in Nashville for a number of years and whenever I heard of this restaurant, it was always in tones of hushed, almost whispered worship, like a prayer or wishing upon a star. My Italian friend, born and raised in Italy, and I ended up at this restaurant on Christmas. We had had a perfectly glorious mini repast at 1 808’s earlier (check out the reviews of this place. Genuinely superb!) earlier in the day but decided to see if all we’d heard about Sperry’s was true. The bread, assembled in a glue factory, stuffed with soggy cotton balls and then zapped in the microwave arrived within seconds of our being seated; the soft, cottony, gluey center scalding hot while the colorless crust remained tepid as road kill. It instantly became ballast in the mouth and created a choking hazard. I cannot fathom why my fellow Southerners, who in many ways invented American cooking, cling to this soulless incarnation of wheat and water. It’s everywhere. They should stick with cornbread. The French Onion soup, arrived like the Escargot, within mere seconds after placing our order, which should have been a tip off that no actual cooking was being done. It was so salty I was concerned I would need a blood pressure pill to get through it. The onions looked and tasted like strips of soaked cardboard, while a piece of the glue factory bread sogged, untoasted, over the salt mine below, and then the bland, blubbery cheese had been applied as one would apply mortar. The escargot, little black blood clots, entombed far longer in a tin can than living in a shell had the same musty dead scent of a mausoleum. They were dredged in bread crumbs in the vain hope of masking their flavor and then greased in cheap, tasteless margarine, or was it mineral oil? I’m convinced it wasn’t butter. Greenish, black flakes floated over the top of each cup in the pillivuyt The flakes, at one time in their history before being mixed into the can in which the escargot was embalmed, had been parsley. Or so it was presumed. We deduced that the bread crumbs were intended to pass for stuffing. The usual buttery earthiness of actual escargot was so badly deformed, the spirit of blue blood excess and culinary elitism signaled by its consumption so insulted and debased by this glop, that its only charming feature was that it was not served cold. We did not feel elevated up the social ladder afterward. We felt abused, lashed by the food chain. The salad. Salad bar. Even the vinaigrette was creamy, made with the same machine oil that was in the escargot. The greens were wet. Enough said. By the time the first bite of smoked salmon dip was dipped into, it was surprising that the Nashville Fire Department had not shown up following the scent of liquid smoke wafting through West Meade. It took my Italian companion three cups of canarino to remove the odor from her taste buds. The only thing that exceeded the liquid smoke in ratio to the canned salmon it had been poured over was the mayonnaise the whole concoction had been bathed in to make it spreadable. The bread, sliced Pepperidge Farm White Bread, cleverly cut on the diagonal, had some heft and tooth feel for sure, unfortunately, because it was stale. The reason for its outer crunch being it had been setting open on the kitchen counter since last night’s dinner. Staring at the dish, I kept thinking: Super Bowl, maybe it’s palatable with a keg of beer. Salmon Florentine with creamed spinach and, uhh, and, hmmm….mayonnaise hollandaise? The waiter, who was excellent in every way, had told me that the, cook, or did he say chef?, whatever, the cook liked to cook the Salmon medium well. My first inclination was to ask for just barely medium and boy was I glad I hadn’t! Frozen, with the mustiness of old salmon, the “well done” part saved the dish from perdition. The creamed spinach, was actually spinach (frozen) and gravy (from breakfast) mixed together into a mound over which the perfectly broiled filet reposed. I’m not certain what was in the ramekin that arrived on the plate. Was it mayonnaise or hollandaise? Lumpy, oily, the only part of the lemon it had seen was maybe the outside of one and butter had been nowhere near it. It resembled congealed pus more than buttery, lemony, silky hollandaise. The place was dirty. The dishes were dirty. I sent one bread plate back and the waitress brought me another dirty one. The silver is dull, scared and bent, the walls and ledges dusty, the salad bar kiosk looked like a health hazard. I can see why they keep the lights turned down. The place is stuffy, claustrophobic, with an old world club décor which to the regulars no doubt feels like a pair of comfortable shoes. As a newbie I had the sense of traipsing across over-worn, dank, sticky theatre carpet. We had no liquor and no dessert. I had a hot tea and my companion had only water. Our bill was almost $60. This is too shameful to endure. Caveat emptor.

avoid!! this is one of those places that will not allow you to relax to the lifestyle or music you enjoy. if you dont fit their "poser" mold, then you will find yourself denied. They even have a sign that says you can not choose Country Music to listen to :( There are many great bars in Nashville that accept everyone...we should be beyond this, avoid this place at all costs.

Worst pizza I've ever had. We "splurged" to get the house specialty pizza (the Pizza Spinache @ over $20). I've had better frozen pizza. Seriously. Don't waste your time or your money on this place...

While seemingly chill- Jackson's has a tendency to add-on to its bill. The past two times I have been to Jackson's once at the bar and once outside dining, my bank account showed an increase in the final number of my bill, above the tip. The employees at this resturant add to your bill so they can pocket it. I called the manager who was busy- and never called back...Beware and pay for the sub-standard food with cash.

Food was horrible. Really. Atmosphere was a poor imitation of the old building. I hope the owners are paying a bit more attention to the Sportsman's grilles, I guess this one is a write off. Did I mention that the food was horrible?

I am 100% Cajun from Lafayette La, and just moved here. My 1st trip to this restaurant was just OK, food not great. Tables were close and we were getting bumped frequently. Why, I'll never know, but I took my wife and 20 yr old daughter there. Horrible experience. Will never go back. Rude waitress. Freezing. Would not reseat us to a table not directly under a vent. Never got to the food, but stand by my 1st trip there. Average.

Great place to go if you like being sucker punched and called "faggots" by the owner and bouncer. I'm told the owner is good friends with many area cops and enjoys getting blasted drunk at his bar and then starting fights with guys who don't regularly drink there. This seems true considering the cop who took statements told us we'd never win if we pressed charges, but that he's is forced to show up there a lot because of these issues. The "bouncer" hit me so hard that my shoes flew off and I was soon covered in blood. He was 6'5" and weighed about 300lbs but somehow was able to claim it was self defense. I'm 5'8" and 160lbs...right...

I ate at Rusans with two of my friends. The food is cheap, but the service was terrible. The waitress was rude and when she got one of my friend's order wrong, she acted as if my friend was at fault. I did not mind so much that the waitress got the order wrong, but attempting to blame it on my friend is despicable service. When we asked to see the manager, he automatically took the waitress's side. Eat here if you want cheap, average food, but do not expect the waiters to be polite.

Nucci’s Italian Ice and Gelato is located in Cool Springs shopping Center in 2000 Meridian Blvd., Suite 100 Franklin Tennessee. Nucci’s staff is rude, provides poor customer service and negative attitude towards other ethinicgroups non white. Steve and Connie Hovis are the owners, their sons, Ben and Jay, work full time and their daughters, Erin and Morgan, Upon entering the restaurant on Friday July 17, 2009 at 8:45pm parking was limited and owner Connie Hovis did not provide adequate customer service tonight by acknowledging three customers order and never asking may I help you. I politely interrupted the Connie Hovis while the son (ignored my presence as a customer as well and asked 2 other customers for help) and stated I was next she tried to ignore my comment and then asked can I help you. Normally I would have thought this was an error or oversight but Steve Hovis (owner) also displayed this same negative and discriminatory behavior in May 2009. I have lived in Cool Springs over 13 years and rarely see restaurants who provide negative customer service survive!! My family was a standard customer at Nucci’s – we even looked forward to the daily Gelato specials. After tonight the racists attitude by the owners and family needed to be provided in reviews for future patrons. The menu is limited and the prices are high considering Baskin Robbins, Maggie Moos, Coldstone and Dipping Dots with in a mile radius of Cool Springs. Portions are tight and staff will try to use old products or take shortcuts in preparation. Maybe this small family owned business can grow from this negative experience and become more diverse to other elasticities trying to support their business within Cool Springs.

If you are looking for good cajun food and good entertainment go somewhere else. The food was of poor quality and the live music was worse. I would not suggest this cafe to anyone. Very disappointed.

Food fit for Romanov's it is not. Six of us went a few nights ago. We ordered appetizers and dinner. My appetizer came 1/2 hour after everyone elses. I was told, by the waitress, "It would come vhen it vas cooked". It arrived with my dinner. The piroski was in a pasty instead of a dough, but I thought it was tasty, the people who ordered it did not.The herring was less tasty and the Greek Salad was overburdened with peppers. When I got my pelmeni, I was please with their taste. Two chicken kiev's were ordered and looked and tasted commercial. One of our guests thought they were "Hot Pockets". Two stroganoffs were ordered, which were made with inferior meat and were tough and chewy. My stuffed cabbage was partially cooked and I returned it. I was offered something instead and got the Salmon Tower appetizer, which was very good. One other person ordered the Zraza, I think it was spelled, very much like a rouladen, but dry and chewy. The Cake Napoleon was a puff pasty turned into a brick, cold, hard and tasteless. No one was happy. Very uneven and very unskilled service. I have travelled the world and have eaten in Russia. This was more like Gulag food, I suspect.
