it's a place my soul has always known and hopefully always will
One of my favorites in Nashville. Everything I've had here has been incredible. The service has also been excellent each time I have gone.
I will never go back to Sperry's. I ordered lamb chops cooked med rare for my entree. When they arrived at my table, you could tell they were way overcooked just by looking at them. The bones were completely charred and when I cut into one, the meat was tough and completely grey. I sent them back and asked if they would make them rare to be sure they weren't overcooked. They brought brought back a terrible second attempt. They were pretty much just a little less cooked than the first. Also, there were about 10 extremely thin lamb chops completely covered in bread crumbs that seemed like an attempt to hide the terrible meat underneath, rather than 3-4 nice thick cuts that could be cooked perfectly.
I really hoped this was a fluke and that something was just off that night, but then for dessert we ordered a sunday (impossible to mess up a sunday, right?). The ice cream sunday was pre-made and had to have been sitting in the freezer for days. My girlfriend couldn't even shove a fork through the ice cream.
Easily the worst dining experience I have had since I have lived in Nashville, and probably the biggest waste of money i have spent while dining anywhere.
This was the worst taco place. I have ever eaten at. Service was horrible. It took forever and they messed my food and my friends order and when we finally got it it was bland and under cooked.
fuimos a cenar el domingo 22 d julio y la verdad si stan muy rikas las popusas y ademas el precio es mui bueno ,regresaremos pronto
This must be the case of the emperor's new cloths. I suppose people that think they are getting hand made cakes and butter cream icing, or a cake better than Kroger or Publix because the sign reads "bakery". These are box cakes just like the grocery store and there is no butter in the shortening icing they use. If a bakery adds things to there cake, (ribbon) than they have something to hide. All this is fine if it is represented honestly, but it is not. Just know what you are buying, and realize this is a result of there not being any real "bakery" to show customers what they are not getting at this cake store.
The steak frittes with herb butter is one of the best you can get in town!
Our first visit to Athens was on 7-14-2012 for lunch. We were sitted quickly very crowded. The food was great our server was a little slow. Waited to get a refill on my tea she finely came just before leaving. There was alot of flies around our table.
Awesome place to have a great dining experience! Food was great and service was great too. Prices are a bit high but the quality of the food was top notch and it tasted YUMMY!
With its decor as dull and comfortless as a disused bus station, its dining room placed inches from the non-foyered entry door and fronting the half-walled kitchen from which crashes and bangs thunder regularly every few seconds, and its vistas of a suburban strip-mall, Miel's ambiance rates lower that of than many chain restaurants, much less what one would expect for haute cuisine. The service, too, is shockingly bad; non-existent much of the time (no offer to refill wine or coffee -- actually, no initial offer to SERVE wine or coffee!; although we were only one of three couples in his section, our waiter left our entrees dallying on the counter so long, the hostess finally served them; our bottle of wine arrived ten minutes AFTER the entrees), punctuated by disruptive bouts of rudeness (interrupting a romantic toast; offering to let the escorted married lady taste the wine her husband had ordered, not the gentleman, as is proper; commenting derisively on the gentleman's request for additional service). The food is divine, although portions may be somewhat meager. IF this boit had someone as devoted to ensuring its good service and ambiance as the chef evidently devotes himself to its cuisine, Miel would be a sweet treat indeed. As it stands now, however, the experience is simply too bitter to endure.
The grilled salmon was dry and rather tasteless. Our table placement was very poor, it was later-8:30 or so, is that late? I suppose the staff was ending their day and getting doing prep work for the next day.
I was lucky enough to have a delightful view of the inside of the grimy looking kitchen? I could see a waiter with his pants undone tucking in his shirt, a waitress emptying garbage cans then mopping the floor, then she proceeded to sweep under a few tables, several waitresses were rattling around with salt and pepper shakers... It wasn't that crowded and certainly there may have been other tables available-even if we had to wait a few minutes would have been more preferred than the terrible table we had. My husband enjoyed the steak he was served and we loved the spinach appetizer.
This place is great, i drove past it for years, finally gave it a try. Superb burgers! and the desserts are splendid. reasonably priced as well
Thank God for Amicos - I can finally say there is a good pizza place in Nashville!
I take my family to this place every week. We love it and know all the people who work there. The crawfish is outstanding as is the catfish and gumbo. Bill takes personal care of the products and the preparation. We highly recommend this restaurant. It IS the real deal in Cajun food.
Cafe Bosna is a hidden treasure in Nashville! It's a quaint little gem with THE BEST FOOD; my personal fav is Stuffed Peppers.
I eat there about once a month and thoroughly enjoy the food and the atmosphere.
Great breakfast. Omelette and toast for a fair price. Service is very friendly and prompt. Location is prefect for downtown visitors and workers alike. May. 2012
A great reastaurant. You can get some Americanized dishes and some more authentic stuff. Try anything, I have never been disappointed. I do have two suggestions:
1) If you like chorizo, you have to try theirs, it is top notch!
2) If you are into really hot sauce, ask for the home-made habenero sauce to put on your tacos or on whatever else you like. They bring it out of the cooler in a big yellow squeeze bottle. It tastes great, but it's really hot. By comparison, if you can eat the El Yucateco brand Salsa Kutbil-Ik, you can handle this stuff.
In conclusion, I eat here all the time, I am addicted. It's that good.
They serve top quality dogs including polish and vegterian, grilled or steamed on a white or wheat bun (your choice). The kraut on the New York dog is very good and the Chicago dog is the real deal, including the sport peppers, tomato wedge, pickle slice, bright green relish, and cucumber salt. The fries are KILLER; They are perfectly cooked in peanut oil, and more than you can eat are stuffed into the brown paper bag in which they are served. The building is tiny, with a few stools and a small bar along one wall. It's usually crowded so you probably won't want to eat inside, but you can, especially if you are willing to eat standing. Don't worry, there are picnic tables on the covered deck which has roll-up canvas sides to keep the wind and sun at bay, and the food tastes great no matter where you eat it.
Re: “Las Maracas Mexican Restaurant”
Good food, Friendly service. Fountain Drinks are expensive! $2.05 on my last visit, will get water from now on.
