Re: “Urban Grub Fish Pit and Southern Cantina

This was a date night that ended in me wishing we would have saved our money. It all started off with a 915 reservation that we arrived for at 9pm. Walked in and waited about 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged as existing. There was a gentleman frustated with his wait time from an 8pm reservation and the hostess showed no empathy whatsoever. A key phrase was "Would you like me to ask people to leave?" Other parties around us were grumbling about the time; they had been waiting about an hour for reservations as well. Ended up waiting about an hour longer. A walk in almost got sat before us, but standing up reminded them we were there. Apparently hosting is hard, as there were 3 people who could not figure their way out of a paper bag. Maybe one of them could have bussed some tables, as there were many other people waiting and empty tables everywhere.

Service
Waitress was nice enough, but unattentive at best. We waited over an hour for food for only 2 people. By this time it is almost 11pm Overpriced and underwhelming is the best way to describe the lamb chops. Server described them as very large and a double portion. Hint-Dont waste your money. I had the carbonara- and it was lukewarm at best. Water glasse and wine glass sat empty- no bother to refill.

Other tables around us were sending food back due to undercooked or purple steaks. Had a chance to chat with them, as they looked just as miserable as we were. Waste of our time and money. Overpriced on basically everything. Horrible environment and the fact that the manager, owner or whomever was allegedly in charge should have been touching every table. Couldn't even be bothered, and we walked out without so much of an ackowledgement from the 2 hostesses.

This place sucks. Bottom line. If I thought I would have been heard, I would say it to the manager as well.

Best lunch so far but still did not try the deep dish

Re: “The Wild Hare

Thought they'd hopped out of town---gone out of business.
Constant turnover in the kitchen (tells you something about the help), dirty, quality of food has really gone downhill, over priced, loud, unappealing environment... There are lots of better choices in the area now.

Re: “Crows Nest

The food is great and fresh, especially for a sports bar!

Re: “The Row

Favorite brunch/lunch spot. Great atmosphere, never too crowded & the food is so yummy. The menu offers a good variety and whether you try one of their great (but gigantic) salads or one of their barbecue items, you won't be disappointed.

Re: “Sunflower Cafe

The food is excellent, but I'm
giving this restaurant a poor review because of their parking attendant. I went there today and was trying to exit the parking lot instead of park where he wanted me to, and he proceeded to pound on my window so hard I'm surprised it didn't break, and then yelled at me not to ignore him. I won't be returning, he really ruined the place for me.

Re: “Burger Up

Nashville is known for country music, George Straight, guitars, hot chicken and more country music. But Nashville is starting to break ground in the food culture. They’re doing so by making some really good ass burgers. Nashville’s very own Battle of the Burgers: as what we like to call it, is starting to turn heads and heighten our taste buds. So of course we had to go to Burger Up. I’ve heard really good things about this place and very few people seem to not like this place. So naturally, we had to go give this place our hit and review.

From the start, I got the “Urban Outfitters” vibe as soon as we walked through the door. Everything was so sleek with wood seats, wooden bar and yes, wooden tables. The gigantic windows allow the sun to shine through, which gives the place more warmth and life. It is as if Urban Outfitters had branched off and made a burger joint (home of the tight pants and deep v-necks). No mainstream found here, just a vintage look and Neutral Milk Hotel playing in the background. Ok, ok…That was a bit of a stretch, BUT this place puts out a great vibe, it makes you want to come back.

Now to the good stuff! The burgers were unbelievably good. It caught me off guard, on how good they truly were. Every ingredient is local. The beef is organically fed for all you healthy picky ass eaters. We ordered two burgers, the recommended Woodstock burger, which has Benton’s bacon, white cheddar, and Jack Daniel’s maple ketchup on it. That shit was great. It actually tasted fresh, which seems odd to say, but that was the first thought that popped into my head. The second burger that was ordered was the turkey burger. GOOD GAWD! Best turkey burger I’ve ever had the pleasure to eat thus far. Thumbs up to the cook. The burgers were done right. The truffle fries made for a great side (golden brown with a little salt). The homemade ketchup they served went well with the burgers and fries. It doesn’t taste like normal ketchup, a bit on the sweeter side, but something definitely to give a try. For dessert we shared the Krispy Kreme doughnut pudding with grand mariner crème anglaise. Sounds like some fancy shit, right? Well it melted in my mouth. So fresh, so delicious, and so gone off my plate, well that’s all I got to say about that. Plain and simple, it was great and I recommend you try that good ass dessert when you eat there.

Everyone has an opinion, but too many people are complaining about the prices at this nice burger joint. They use great quality products, so you will spend a little extra cash for that. I love that they offer tons of items like chicken wings, salads, fried oysters, and plenty of burgers (that’s a given). Burger Up fits right in the neighborhood of 12th South. The only question I have is ,when will they make those vintage, extra washed, overpriced wool Burger Up tee’s that we all crave for (ha ha), and are those tight ass nut hugging jeans part of their uniform?!

Re: “Pour House Burgers, Bourbons & Brews

My cousin loves this place. I on the other hand met her and her husband two weeks ago for music and dinner. Band started at 10pm and very entertaining, I had a burger well done(i know not the way one should order , but that is the way i like it) although the burger seemed to have been sitting out and dried up. later that eve I became sick which I believe was from the burger.I also ordered a beer and my date ordered a vodka soda. both glasses had soap suds in them and we had to have another brought to us which they did. Im not sure if Im going to try again, but if I do it will be a soft drink and a small appetizer and hopefully will have better luck

Re: “Café Bosna

Cafe Bosna is the most authentic European restaurant I've been to in Nashville, and my local friends from the Ukraine love the food. The culinary focus is Germany and east Europe. My favorite dish is the stuffed sauerkraut, but all the dishes have been great. The desserts are also great, and you can bring your own wine with no corkage fee. The owner is the chef and hostess, and we always have a great time. Hard to get better than that.

Re: “Burger Up

Whoa baby! Killer burgers! My husband and I have been on a quest for awesome burgers in and around Nashville. This place came very close to 5 stars. Very nice vintage decor, although felt a little fancy for a burger joint. Luckily it wasn't crowded, I think we came on the early bird side. The service was... ok, we were not ignored, but not really waited on either. My husband was asked if he wanted a drink refill only after they took our plates away; to be fair, we do eat quickly. As we were waiting for the check, i noticed that all of the men working had the exact same big black plastic hipster eye-glasses and I pondered if that was just a coincidence or part of the uniform.

Ok, now for the burgers. Juicy, extremely flavorful beef, nice char and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The mouth watering bacon that came on my burger was thick cut, sweet and smokey. Really fantastic! The lightly sweet and soft bun complimented the burger and took it to an exceptional level. My only complaint was the size of the burger. It was too small. I wanted more! It was $11 for an, albeit incredibly delicious, but disappointingly small burger. Next time that I go, and I will be back, I will order a double. I'm not exactly sure what that will do to the price, but I think it will be worth it!

Oh, and I loved the fries. They were crisp, salty, and hand cut. The specials also looked amazing, again, next time I will branch out. This visit was for a straight up burger review!

Re: “Sunflower Cafe

I ordered the chef special to go. I found it all delightful, and enough left over for tomorrow's lunch as well. In addition to the wonderfully alternative food, this place is also virtually unique in Berry Hill since it has a good size parking lot.

Re: “Urban Grub Fish Pit and Southern Cantina

Great new addition to the 12th South area. Easily the one of the best high-end dining experiences on the West side. Amazing oyster bar, incredible wine list, amazing ambiance, and a must-try for anyone in Nashville. Easily the best new fine dining experience in town right now.

Cafe Bosna is a hidden treasure in Nashville! It's a quaint little gem with THE BEST FOOD; my personal fav is Stuffed Peppers.
