Re: “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson

It rocked my world and sparked great conversation amongst my own family, friends, and peers! It is timely given the political demonstrations currently active around the nation. Go see it! It was an amazing production, and I applaud the cast and crew for their portrayals!

Re: “The Ripper

Oracle Productions is a standout in a city with an abundance of community theater. Scott Crain can cause his audience to run the emotional gamut from laughing hysterically at ascerbic dialogue to crying hysterically at sorrow and pain so deeply expressed it is tangible. Based on the shows I have seen, Crain's skill in the area of casting is second to none. I am thoroughly enhralled with Oracle Productions. The Ripper is certainly no exception.

Re: “The Twilight Singers w/Margot and the Nuclear So and So's

Your highly complimentary tone was much appreciated! It has been my experience that, all too often, journalists tend to be dismissive of Greg's deeply moving lyric's, and his wonderfully (slightly) out of tune voice.

Re: “The Ripper

I have seen almost all of Oracle Production's plays over the last several years and have never been disappointed. Always creative, thought provoking, and witty, Scott Crain's writing and characters have unusual depth, as do his star actors. I can't wait to see "The Ripper" in November, the 3rd and final in a completely original series of dark tales retold.

Not one to let the uninformed take two votes without giving myself a fair shake.

Re: “The Ripper

Gothic steampunk meets Victorian-era London with Scott Crain’s macabre adaptation of the Jack the Ripper story. Opening right on the heels of Halloween, the show is decidedly dark but offers plenty of comic relief. Fans of Oracle Productions are likely to detect the thread of redemption Crain weaves throughout his work. Well-written and perfectly priced, The Ripper chills the spine, feeds the soul, and excites the senses.

Re: “Brothers & Sisters: The Rise of Southern Rock

Yes, but you relly must mention the Wet Willie Band right along with ABB, MTB and Skynyrd anytime the term "Southern Rock" is used. It should be known that Wet Willie gave the Marshall Tucker Band their first break when MTB, as a new group (Caldwell brothers returning from Viet Nam), was opening for Wet Willie when Ricky Hirsch (Wet Willie guitarist and song writer) recommended to Tommy and Toy Caldwell that the band (MTB) come to Macon (GA) and audition for Capricorn Records - they did, and they became a major player in the Southern Rock phenome.

Re: “Brothers & Sisters: The Rise of Southern Rock

Those southern rockers from the early 70s were grittier and louder than the country rock groups that came before. Lynyrd Skynyrd first hit in 1973 with “Gimme Three Steps,” a bar brawl tune that was based on a true story. On Rockaeology at http://bit.ly/eDpt3B guitarist Gary Rossington tells what happened when Ronnie Van Zant was caught dancing with the wrong guy’s girlfriend at the Little Brown Jug, a Jacksonville bar.

Re: “Sexy Coffee

Went to see the Sexy Coffee tonight (opening night) and I must say I was extremely impressed with the show. Despite being initially confused when the first act started (with only a solo actresses that was live... and with other cast members “on stage” above the main stage virtually)… it is a must see (a rare great one for Nashville).

I also loved that it was just over an hour long for the entire play. (Perfect for myself with a short attention span on especially for someone that might be on a date night… and we were able to have dinner at a reasonable time after the show.)

Five out of five stars on my card! -Scott
