Re: “Jessie Liz Clement

Wow, what a cool venue! Great sound and a casual comfortable atmoshpere. Fun place to play. Jessie Liz was astonishing. The depth of her writing and her vocal and guitar chops were so fresh and...well... beautiful and inspiring.

If you like hip-hop, you might like my blog, Rhymes and Reasons. It’s a series of interviews with hip-hop heads who discuss their lives and a few songs that matter to them. Pretty powerful stuff. Check’em out here:

Re: “Grand Opening: Antique Archaeology Nashville

Mike, I went by your Nashville store today, and you need to expand exponentially! More stuff, and a lot more floor space. BTW, I've got 13 typesetting trays, a dressmaker's form and a rare barber's chair on top of a heap of pickables that I want you to see--and bargain with me for. Nashville is a major tourist destination, and you could increase your foot traffic if you had a bigger store and a restaurant, and easier access by car. I had a hard time getting there and parking. There's lots of storefronts vacant in the Metro area, and you could get advertising and directions in all the hotels, etc. Love your show!

Re: “Marty Stuart's Late Night Jam

I LOVE MARTY AND THE SUPERLATIVES! THAT BEING SAID, LET ME GIVE JUST ONE PERSON'S THOUGHTS ON THE 2012 JAM: OAK RIDGE BOYS KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK; STONEWALL WAS A JOY TO SEE AND HEAR, AND SANG SURPRISINGLY WELL! THE CHUCKWAGON GANG WAS VERY, VERY GOOD; SEEING ROGER McGUINN SATISFIED THE OLD HIPPY-COUNTRY ROCKER, AND ANY HALL-OF-FAMER SHOULD BE ON THE SHORT LIST OF PEOPLE YOU WANT TO HEAR BEFORE YOU CHECK OUT OF THIS WORLD; PAUL MARTIN AND HIS CHILDREN WERE SPECTACULAR; CONNIE SMITH IS ALWAYS GREAT, BUT ON JAM NIGHT SHE WAS ABSOLUTELY TREMENDOUS!! THE LOW POINT OF THE ENTIRE EVENING (FOR US, ANYWAY) WAS THE INCREDIBLY LOUD AND SELF-ABSORBED WYNONA....TO CALL HER OVER-RATED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. HER BAND WAS NOISY, AND SHE WENT ON FAR TOO LONG WITH HER BLABBERING ABOUT MOM, SIS, OPRAH, AND HER HUSBAND-TO-BE. WOULDN'T CROSS THE STREET TO SEE HER FOR FREE! BUT.....MARTY IS MARTY, AND HE AND THE SUPERLATIVES WERE (AS ALWAYS! SUPERLATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: “Movies in the Park: The Help

And yet, IT is still ironic.

A big thumbs down to the change of venue. There's no bus line there, and with the construction this year, it would be harder for anyone from Inglewood to attend.

It was a bad move and makes me think a lot less of the Scene. (And my understanding is that the park staff, etc. had nothing to do with the move at all. This whole move is on the Scene alone.)

But hey, you could always hire some poor people who can't attend now otherwise to come out and serve food to the guests!

Re: “Movies in the Park: The Help

Much better fare at the free outdoor movies being presented by the Belcourt over the summer; how many people alive have ever seen The Creature From The Black Lagoon on a big screen (even if it is the side of a building...)?

Re: “Movies in the Park: The Help

"It's" is a substitute for "it is" or "it has" ONLY - leave out the apostrophe for possessive use of "it."

Re: “Movies in the Park: The Help

Does anyone else see the irony in this movie being played in it's new venue?
