Re: “Tom Randles Record Release

This is a great review, and I've heard the album and it's awesome. But this event is this Saturday evening, April 28th. So there's still time to go see him in person. I am!

Re: “Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

Orpheus is a superb, world-class orchestra and this is a terrific program of music old and new! Full disclosure: I was the development director (fundraising) for Orpheus, based in NYC, 20+ years ago -- and I'm still in love!

Re: “Goes Country feat. Johnny Mack

We went because there was nothing else going on at that time downtown and was stunned by the artist and band playing this show. It was way underpromoted as we only stumbled on it. The band was very good and every single artist was great. I wish Hard Rock Cafe would get the word out better in the future

Re: “Ben Kweller w/Sleeper Agent & The Dig

This show was amazing. Ben Kweller was great, of course, but Sleeper Agent blew my mind. :D

Re: “The Moody Blues

5 stars for the band, none for Mr. Hurt, who wrote this concert preview.

This is supposed to be a promo for the Moody Blues' performance tonight at the Ryman? I thought promos were supposed to be unbiased, accurate, maybe a little thoughtful...? It's usually expected to be at least a little 'positive', isn't it?

http://www.merriam-webster.com/ Definition of SCHLOCK: of low quality or value

What's LOVE got to do with it? ;-)

There's a little similarity between "Days Of Future Passed" and Love's "Forever Changes." The titles both link to time in a broad sense and they both say 1967 on the back of the albums! "Forever Changes " is nice, folky, soft rock. "Days of Future Passed" stood and still stands alone in it's breadth and magnitude, a grand melding of the classical strains of a symphony with the pure creativity of budding art rock at it's best and finest. It is one of THE most elegant and perfect albums I have ever had the pleasure to hear! You couldn't change a note!

But how does comparing a band to it's contemporaries do anything to promote tonight's show? In my mind, this piece of.... writing doesn't meet the minimum requirements to be a concert promotion, I'm very sorry to say.

Re: “Commodore Lounge

I was saddened when the French Quarter closed and the NJO lost its home. But now I've been to see them at the Commodore and it is a great replacement....much better, actually! The setup is intimate, the sound is amazing, the band, of course kicks major butt...and it's easier to get to than the old venue. I will be back!
