Re: “Government Cheese Album Release feat. Lisa Oliver Gray

Twenty something years after the fact, the Cheese hit the nail squarely on the head with "The Late Show", easily the best record of their storied career and one of the best release of the year. An under-appreciated band at the top of their game- well worth the wait!

Re: “Josh Hoyer and the Shadowboxers

There's a lot of great Funk, Soul and Blues bands developing in Nebraska and the Midwest; in no small part due to the presence and heritage of the world famous Zoo bar in Lincoln. Josh Hoyer and the Shadowboxers are the best of the best of this scene, assailing audiences with their explosive mix of Soul, Funk, and R&B with crafted, smart songwriting. Nashville will love these guys!

This show is done and over.

Re: “Bobby's Idle Hour

There are very few tourists at Idle Hour. It's mostly bar regulars and a few random Vandy students who WILL get screamed at & thrown out if they don't behave themselves. This show has built a good following and is pretty fun. I host maybe half the time and often get Mary Jay Berger or Brett Cantrell or DJ Buckley or Josh Wagner or someone else to do it so I can tend to my squirrel.

Re: “A Love Supreme — The Legacy Lives On feat. Rahsaan Barber and the Jazz Music City All-Stars

Absolutely aweseome; one of the best live performances I've ever experienced . . . .

Re: “Alias Chamber Ensemble

I think admission to Alias concerts is $15, not free, as you reported.

Re: “Take Me Out

This is the shyest cast ever assembled for "Take Me Out" and Nashville deserves a little more.

Re: “The Grateful Goddamn Dead Ordeal

Fuck the shadows.

A couple analogous souls [specializing in photography and writing] from the great white are in search of fine-as-wine recommendations to that of which you may bestow.

I dig your writing for two reasons: style and opinion. You seem like a fine source to assist our journeys in discovering top music venues across the States. We will be in Nashville early next week. Share your advice if you please and we will be sure to write and photograph the best of Nashville, in your honour! Here, here!

In other words: we're looking for some first-hand advice on the itty, gritty, badassery of ear-pumpin' vibrations that is Nashville music.

Re: “Sheriff Scott and the Deputies Album Release feat. Julie Lee

If you're uncomfortable with referring to this genre as 'gypsy jazz' try "hot club" or "manouche".

Re: “Record Store Day feat. PUJOL, Anwar Sadat & Shadraq

Shadraq kicked it off with a searing set. AS let loose a barrage of inspired noise. PUJOL finished it off with precision, passion, and I can't think of another P word, but trust me they were great.

Re: “Bernadette Peters with the Nashville Symphony

She was amazing! A beautiful, funny, talented live entertainer! I've loved her since I was 17 and have seen her in concert once before. Don't miss it! She'll blow you away! :)

Re: “Eight O'Five Jive Album Release

Great group! As well as the members mentioned they have an awesome bass player, drummer and saxophonist. Can't wait to hear them at their next gig.
