Best of Nashville 2009

One thing we're not, here at the Nashville Scene, is crystal-ball readers. Twenty years ago, we didn't envision the skyline dominated by a 60-story replica of the Caped Crusader's cowl. We didn't see that the city would have an NFL team, or that the quarterback who led them to the Super Bowl in their very first season here would be gone far too soon. And never in a million years would we have foreseen periodic sightings here of that smokin' hot Australian chick from Days of Thunder—let alone that the local dude playing the president of NASCAR would end up running for president of the United States. Craziest of all, though, would have been the thought that 20 years later, we'd still be gathering every year to toast the things we love about this toddlin' town—the local foods nobody can beat, the singers, saloons and honky-tonks that keep us honest, the people who may have found Nashville a tough place to stay, but an even tougher place to leave. Twenty years into the Scene's own full-circle trip, back to its origins as a locally owned independent newspaper, the Best of Nashville issue remains our way of bringing this sprawling city into focus—by having you tell us your favorite things about living here, and responding with a bunch of our own. Think you've scoped out Nashville's best burger? So do we. Got an author, a teacher or a plumber you think is the city's finest? We've got one in our sights too. From arts and music to media and politics, this issue charts a plethora of people, places and things that deserve a closer look. So adjust your glasses, remove your contacts, and read on. And let's hope that when we meet again in 20 years, our vision is just as clear.

Trapper Jack Wildlife Specialist, LLC is by far the BEST Wildlife Removal company in town. The owner, Greg King is truly a man of his word. His crew is courteous and professional. They seem to really love their jobs and the company they work for. Greg is obviously a great guy to work for and certainly a great guy to work with! I can’t thank Trapper Jack enough for the outstanding job they did in not only solving our problem within the hour of first calling them, but for also helping us recover the money we thought we had lost paying one of their so called competitors. I hope the Nashville Scene will consider listing these guys in their 2010 “Best of Nashville” issue!

P.S. We love their quirky radio commercial too…Great job to the producers at 95.5 the Wolf!

Although, I value your opinion of Trapper Jack. I did not have the same experience. He was a complete liar and did not refund the amount of money that HE suggested to me. He failed to take care of his customer, he lied on several occasions regarding conversations and email correspondence (which I have as proof), and he blamed his lack of service on one of his employees saying that he doesn't control what his employees promise.

I would never suggest using Trapper Jack. I would pick a Tennessee company. Greg King lives out of state. In my opinion, he has zero integrity.

We at Trapper Jack Wildlife Specialist, LLC always appreciate a kind word about our company. We work very hard to maintain the integrity necessary to always show our customers the respect and care they deserve. We realize that “Your referrals are the lifeline to our business.”

However, as the saying goes; "You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time" Abraham Lincoln.

As with the entry made above, the complaint made was not only investigated by our company, but also by the Better Business Bureau and we were found not guilty of the accusation.

I want to personally apologize for this customers feelings of deception, but I feel this is a clear case saying what we do and doing what we say.

OTTNO.

Thank you again,
Greg King-Owner
Trapper Jack Wildlife Specialist
