Folks had barely finished 2013's Step Brothers 2, the sophomore collab effort from Nashville's Starlito and Memphis' Don Trip, before the requests for a follow-up started pouring in. In February,

Lito began spreading the word

that Step Brothers 3 was officially due to drop on March 15, and sure enough, it's here.

The 15-track release finds the pair on their A game, showcasing phenomenal storytelling skills as they dig into romantic relationships ("If My Girl Find Out"), the distractions of the rap game ("Me & You Both") and maybe most significantly, the relationships between police and black communities.

A standout track among several that touch on that subject is "Good Cop Bad Cop," which tells the story of two police officers whose lives intersect in a complicated, tragic fashion. Here, honorable intentions get torn apart by human failings, and no one wins. It's a nuanced story worth making a movie out of, and that's exactly what they did. Above, check out the film, directed by Charles M. Robinson and featuring Rob White as Officer Craig and DJ Adam Warfield as Officer Bart.

Below, give the whole album a listen via Spotify. You can also get the record on iTunes or preorder a copy on CD. Starlito and Don Trip are hitting the road behind Step Brothers 3, and they'll be pulling into The Basement East for a local release party on April 23. Tickets run $17-$44 and are available right here.
