Jason Isbell Announces Five-Night Ryman Run

Jason Isbell at Ryman Auditorium, Oct. 27, 2015

Well here's a nice counter to losing an hour to daylight savings: Jason Isbell took a break from his substantial series of Ryman shows (see The Spin's take on his 2014 three-nighter and 2015 four-nighter) last year, but he's got a massive run planned for this year. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and Americana champ will settle in at the Mother Church for five nights this fall — on Oct. 10, 11, 13, 14 and 15. Tickets, running from $39-.50-$99.50, go on sale Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m (night 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

The news comes coupled with the announcement of his forthcoming 10-track studio album with his band The 400 Unit (the first one credited to "Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" since 2011), titled The Nashville Sound. Recorded at the famed RCA Studio A with ace producer Dave Cobb, who helmed Isbell's breakout records Southeastern and Something More Than Free, The Nashville Sound is due via Southeastern Records/Thirty Tigers on June 16.

Special note if you don't wanna wait that long to get your hands on some new Isbell. He cut a live-to-disc session at Welcome to 1979 in the fall of 2016, and that'll be available as a special limited-edition item on Record Store Day, which falls this year on April 22.
