East Nashville venue and watering hole FooBar is closing, according to sources.
Tonight will be the bar-slash-venue’s last night.
Gary Branigan, who works at Palaver Records, says they’ve been holding Thursday night shows at the venue for about three years.
“We literally got notice last week that we needed to cancel [this week’s show],” Branigan told the Scene.
Branigan, and others, have heard the venue will be rebranded and will open under a new name. The venue was repainted this past weekend and another East Nashville bar owner tells the Scene that it will reopen as Cobra.
The FooBar owner has not yet returned calls or messages asking about the venue’s closing. (Shortly after a Scene reporter messaged FooBar on Facebook, the venue deleted its page.)
We'll update this post with more details as they come.
