Re: “Why Style Blueprint Should Stick To What It Knows

"Trafficking is a growing problem. It’s the second fastest growing crime on the planet...." What part of that does Scavendish not understand? I've prophesied before about the future if drugs are legalized, the gangs and other dealers having to find another way to make money, only I predicted burglaries, robberies and car-jacking would increase. From here it looks like Style Blueprint has a legitimate concern. One other thing from Steve's blog: Gee, Steve, why are African Americans being incarcerated at a higher rate than whites? Should we quit arresting black criminals? I know, the police should not patrol places blacks tend to congregate...or even visit. That'll fix the problem because everybody knows it's always whitey's fault.

The Who.

Roger Daltrey (from the stage in rock star mode): "How you doin', Springfield?"
Marge Simpson: "A little chilly."

Re: “Slipknot (and Korn) to Play Bridgestone Arena Nov. 21; Also, Slipknot's Singer Is a Talented Comedian

Those vids are great--you're right, dude, he is pretty funny. He seemed so polite on "Sound City", I wouldn't have expected the shit talking; but entertainment is entertainment, I suppose.

Re: “Paula Deen Talks Sweetbreads, Butter and Why She and Dolly Should Totally Be Friends

How in hell does a food professional mistake sweetbreads for cinnamon rolls? I know her gig is trailer food but c'mon, you're a grown woman who's been dining out and working events with actual chefs for years.
I keep wondering how she could have expected a breakfast pastry to be served as a small plate with truffle and chestnuts (or whatever) and then, when it arrived, to look at it and not think, "where's the frosting, y'all?"
Then I realize I'm spending too much time thinking about this creepy, lying bigot.
Screw her.

Racist? Argue with the argument, but how in world could you ever get racism out of this? Sounds like someone's page views are down...

Re: “Naming Neighborhoods: What Do You Call the Communities Along Dickerson Pike?

There are several neighborhood names along Dickerson Pike. From south of the Goodlettsville city limits (where it is intermittently named Main St. and Dickerson Pike), on down to where we get into the Urban Services District, you have several small subdivisions with their own names (like Ridgemont Estates and Ozark Hills), and then you get larger neighborhoods like Dalemere, Bellshire, Skyview/Skyline, etc. Once you pass from the GSD to the USD, there are other neighborhoods such as Hillhurst, Capitol View, Cleveland Park, McFerrin Park, etc., and these areas are generally considered the less desirable parts and shape the negative reputation (often people inaccurately refer to the "Dickerson Pike Area" as these last few neighborhoods specifically).

Re: “Appreciation: George Barrett Loved Being A Lawyer

Barret lectured my Con Law class in college. Good man, but very intense. Inspired us to examine all issues from both sides, something I find myself often failing to do now, unfortunately!

Re: “We Can't Make This Up (UPDATED)

Privatization of what should be public operations usually results in inefficiency and constant apology, IMHO!

As far as police possessing military equipment, such should be used only in extreme situations and what transpired (by police) in Ferguson BEFORE the provocative video release was completely uncalled for and dose not qualify. What resulted after was the result of authority malpractice.
AS far as this "chicken little" chaos prediction, good damn chance that it is started by authority figures power mad and intolerant of constitutional protections of citizen dissent.

"The commissioners laughed. They did not rule in George’s favor."
Thankfully.
May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you passed, Mr. Barrett.

Re: “Affordable Housing Units Face Bankruptcy After Being Hit With Massive Tax Bill

Am I correct in thinking that the 0.01% ownership is what this hinges on? The article is a little hard to follow when trying to dtermine what tipped this from non-tax to taxable.

0.01% is a pretty small amount. I assume the $376,000 bill is representative of the entire value of the property and not 0.01% of the property. I'd offer $37.60.
