RIP Mr. Pelts. I worked in Brentwood when that shop opened and was excited to see some Memphis BBQ make its way east. I've never been a big fan of bbq joints that sauce the pulled meat before its served and Corky's is no exception. But their dry ribs are solid. For the longest time, it was Corky's or South Street if you wanted good, dry rubbed ribs. I am so glad that we now have many more great options now but have lots of fond memories of picking up slabs from Corky's drive-thru on the way home from work.

There's one simple way to eliminate Dean's distrust by vendors: have a complete & open audit by an independent auditor. Has this even been done?
I find it hard to believe the Fairgrounds has/is losing money, especially now that Dean is charging $5 per car just to park there.
As for all those pie in the sky dreams about development, has anyone taken a drive around the back side of the Fairgrounds & scoped out the neighborhood? Not exactly Belle Meade back there, folks. Not even Antioch, for that matter.
A quick & surefire way for the city to save $$ on the Fairgrounds is to use Metro prisoners to clean the grounds & bldgs. But Metro won't do this, even with DUI folks working off their public service hours. Why? Go ask Metro because it makes too much sense to me.
Dean is hellbent on selling the Fairgrounds & he's doing everything he can to make it happen. This is DESPITE the charter REQUIRING the Fairgrounds to host a state fair each & every year. As Yogi Berra said, you can look it up.

Their Pad Thai & lettuce wraps are excellent. I've been there twice. There are some kinks to be worked out.

I discovered The Royal Court of China via MTV when I was in high school (pretty sure that's the ONLY time that ever happened) and I loved both albums (uh...I think I need that EP...anyone?). Anyway, I was THRILLED when they reunited those couple of times here in town over the last few years and I even met Robert right before the Emporium opened and he was very gracious with my fan boy questions. One of my favorite bands from my youth and this town helped me see 'em live! Very cool!
