"I bet Andy Holt and is taking out his frustration on his hogs." I bet he's spraying hog shit on his neighbor's trees again to show who's boss.

"In this case, there was a lot of vocal opposition to the bill. People organized petitions and contacted Haslam's office. He gauged the crowd and called "Out.""

This is exactly how the gun control bills were shot down. Lots and lots of gun owners called and emailed and voiced their opposition to more gun laws that would have no effect on violent crime.

But oh, how the liberals howled about the "90%"!!!

"Third, there are concerns from some district attorneys that the act actually makes it more difficult to prosecute animal cruelty cases, which would be an unintended consequence."

He's right about making it more difficult to prosecute but it's not an unintended consequence, it was the whole freaking point of the bill.

Re: “Who Needs Honesty? Not Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts

I don't even know where Lock 2 park is, you dweeb.

I know and have helped several scouts who made Eagle, so I'm all too familiar with the character required for that achievement.

You exhibit none of that character.

Re: “Who Needs Honesty? Not Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts

So, zermberb, I don't know how to say this politely. It may feel like it, but I don't intend what I"m about to say to be an attack.

From your posts, and those of others on this website, I don't want some folks to know the information I would have to give you, in order for you to verify what you demand to know.

Maybe sometime soon, we could meet up at Lock 2 park. Not.

"So zermberb cannot show that he/she/ it is a human being. Just as I suspected." - muttintn

Well duh. Since it takes a mother and a father to create another human being, no birth certificate required.

Proving that you are an Eagle Scout is a different matter altogether. Documentation is required, morons.

This is toooooo easy!

Re: “When the Old Opposition Party Can't Stop Opposing

The opportunities for corruption in Tennessee are somewhat more limited than they are in places like California, New York, Chicago and the nation's capital, so Democrat's don't have the vested interest in Tennessee that they do in those other locations.

Re: “Is Andy Holt Trying to Pass a Law to Protect Himself?

Supporters of this bill are either naive or criminal. It is quite clear it was crafted to slow to a stop any meaningful investigations of animal abuse. Holt should be censored for such self serving attempts to circumnavigate justice on this matter, and should be prosecuted if HIS abuse continues.

Re: “Haslam Vetoes Ag Gag Bill

Haslam reminds a little of the blind softball umpire in my old hometown. The ump had a deal with the city. They could use the field, on land he owned, as long as he got to call all the games there (and get paid for his trouble). Sonny was legally blind. He was ok on balls and strikes but couldn't see clearly enough to judge close plays on the base paths. So he made his calls based on the crowd. If more people hollered "Safe!" than "Out!" Sonny would call the runner safe. If the cries for "Out!" were louder, the batter was out.

In this case, there was a lot of vocal opposition to the bill. People organized petitions and contacted Haslam's office. He gauged the crowd and called "Out."

But it's least encouraging that an organized, vocal opposition seems to improve the chance that Haslam will pay attention. Of course, it helps when the attorney general advises him that the bill is unconstitutional.

Re: “Who Needs Honesty? Not Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts

First time commenter, long time reader and, just in case any one missed the disconnect, the commenter that goes by Xray accused another commenter of being a "mean liberal." This after this same person called someone an idiot and said their brain was "encased in a straight jacket.)(Instead of having thoughts, you have farts.)" Xray, you might want to clean up your own act before you start accusing others of being mean!

Re: “Haslam Vetoes Ag Gag Bill

Stop the presses. "Spine Discovered in Haslam's Back!" Should be in every paper with Pearl Harbor-style headlines.

Congrats to Haslam. It only took a little more than 2 years to be discovered, but it seems he has some rudimentry level of governing ability. Hope to see more of the same, as the crazy train will be running full throttle in the next (election year) session.
