Impressive Cadre of Nashville Chefs Heads North for Fine Fettle Event

On Saturday, Aug. 19, a quartet of noted Nashville chefs will travel to Clarksville to join some locals to put on a dinner event to benefit The Food Initiative, a local nonprofit organization that works with students who learn about farms and agriculture by helping to raise crops before harvesting for distribution throughout the community in various venues including Manna Cafe, Loaves and Fishes, and the Clarksville Downtown Market.

They are calling the event the “Fine Fettle Dinner,” a cool old phase meaning “to be in a good state or condition of health, fitness, wholeness, spirit or form.” Local organizers include jewelry designer Elliott Herzlich, who will showcase his creative talents in the kitchen, as well as caterer Alex Belew out of Murfreesboro.

The Nashville squad contains some real heavy hitters. Husk Nashville’s newly appointed chef de cuisine Nate Leonard will be joined by Bryan Lee Weaver or Butcher & Bee, Virago’s Andrew Whitney and Levon Wallace of Gray & Dudley. This fourth annual Fine Fettle farm-to-table tasting will be held at the Old Glory Distilling Co. at 451 Alfred Thun Road, in Clarksville, from 6 to 9 p.m. General admission tickets are $65 per person, and VIP tickets are also available.

The official website delineates the difference between the two ticket levels thusly:

General Admissions ticket prices include hors d'ouevres, wine and beer, fresh-made lemonade from "Not Just Lemonade" tastings created from local fare by 6 talented chefs, access to the silent auction, live music, and dessert. The VIP experience will also include admission into the Tasting Room at 6:00pm at the Old Glory Distilling Co. to enjoy a mixed cocktail featuring an Old Glory Spirit in your own Fine Fettle glass and a commemorative bottle of Beachaven's "Blackberry Blackout" made in celebration of the Solar Eclipse!

The event is 21+, of course, and tickets are available at the event’s website.
