Last week, Sinema announced the departure of Chef Dale Levitski and the promotion of Kyle Patterson to executive chef of the restaurant. Chef Levitski was set to defend his Iron Fork title next week, but in his stead will be Chef Patterson, who assisted Levitski in last year's competition.Â
A native of Chicago, Kyle relocated to Nashville to join the Sinema opening team as sous chef in 2014. He has worked alongside executive chef Dale Levitski since 2012, including the opening of Levitski’s Frog n Snail in Chicago, so the transition in the kitchen is likely to be seamless.
In advance of Iron Fork, let's better know Chef Patterson now:
Vital tool: Offset spatula
Favorite gadget: Anti-griddle. I've never had one in any of the kitchens I've worked in, so they have always had a forbidden fruit appeal.Pantry essential: Morton's Kosher Salt.
Necessary extravagance: Hedley and Bennett aprons. I absolutely love them.
Favorite beverage: Chocolate milk.
Â
Favorite smell: When I walk in the kitchen after we have done our overnight braises.Comfort food: Pizza Puffs — one of my reps keeps them stocked just for our staff meal.
Inspiration: The Swedish Chef
Last meal: Chicken fingers, cheese pizza and chocolate milk.
Don't forget!
Tickets to Iron Fork on Thursday, April 7, are still just $35 per personuntil this Friday, April 1, when the price increases to $40. Proceeds from the event benefit
