For almost a year, comedians Mary Jay Berger and Paulina Combow have been hosting one of Nashville’s few and finest independent comedy variety shows amongst the goths, teens and goth teens in the ramshackle back room of Cafe Coco. Either fed up with Coco’s attempt at poutine or threatened by the blaze that took down the neighboring Villa Louise apartment complex earlier this month, Berger and Combow are moving their monthly Comedy Pug Hugs show — which features stand-up, sketch and improv comedy, plus the occasional musician — to Mad Donna’s loft, where they will be free of Dave Navarro lookalikes. (Presumably.)
This month’s show features performances by stand-ups Chuck Anderson, Sean Parrott and Jim Seward, plus special guests. Five bucks at the door will net you at least three guffaws.
