Fort Roll-Up: Sammy Shaw

Posted By on Tue, Sep 3, 2013 at 6:30 AM

[Ed. note: This episode was originally published Aug. 1, but since we referenced it so many times during last week's conversation with Lain York we decided to repost it.]

In this episode of Fort Roll-Up we interview Sammy Shaw, a sociologist who studies the life of artists in his native Portland, Ore., and Nashville, his adopted home. Joining us is Joe Nolan, a Nashville-based art writer who participated in Sammy’s study. Topics of discussion include Gallatin Pike as a sociological microcosm and the history of artists leaving Nashville.
