Wedgewood-Houston Studio Tour and Gallery Walk
Where: 427 Chestnut Street
When: 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 9
Imagine spending your Sunday night on a tour of beautiful homes, only instead of houses you'll be led through the labyrinthine hallways a turn-of-the-century building, observing relics from its former life as a hosiery mill interspersed with some of the most cutting-edge art Nashville has to offer. Think of Sunday's tour of the Chestnut Square studios and neighboring galleries and artists' spaces in the as a chance to explore a kind of living museum, and have a beer while you're doing it.
Galleries like Seed Space and Zeitgeist, artists' collectives like Fort Houston, and studios of Michael McBride, Adrienne Outlaw, Kit Reuther and more will be on the agenda. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided by The Filling Station and 8th & Roast. Ticket prices range from $10-$15, so you can feel charitable while you're at it. And you can show your support for the Fort Houston folks, who are navigating a sticky situation with their landlord and Metro’s codes department.
