Greg Pond: I'd Leave the Whole World Round
When: Through June 8, with an artist's reception 4-7 p.m. Saturday, June 1
Where: Zeitgeist Gallery, 516 Hagan St.

Zeitgeist’s first move at their new space by Greer Stadium is to exhibit an appropriately heavy-hitting artist. Greg Pond was a spearhead of the Nashville art scene in the storied Fugitive Projects days, and although he spends most of his time up the mountain at Sewanee teaching art, he still keeps his feet wet around town — in March he led an Arduino workshop at Fort Houston, and he screened Born in Trench Town, the documentary he directed about Jamaica’s Kingston Yards, at Fisk in April.

For this exhibit, Pond uses high and low technologies to produce sculpture, sound and printed images made from software, 3-D objects, electronics and handcrafted materials. If you want to see what artists are going to be talking about 10 years from now, stop by the new Zeitgeist Gallery and introduce yourself to Pond’s work.
