Nashville Fashion Week Recap: Days Three and Four

Posted By on Tue, Apr 9, 2013 at 3:01 PM

On day three of Nashville Fashion Week, the Belmont Mansion played host to a luxe late-morning runway show featuring Modern Trousseau and Memeka By Gustavo Cadile. In other words, gowns, gowns, and more gowns! This runway show appealed to the little princess in all of us. My God, I can't believe I just wrote that sentence, but it's true!

Also, the models were challenged with walking down — and then up — a major staircase as part of the runway show. Lest you think this is not a big deal, I challenge you to walk down a flight of stairs in a floor-length gown in shoes that aren't yours. These girls have my respect for completing their respective walks without faceplanting.

So let's start with the bridal stuff, because it's pretty and we all like pretty things. Here are some favorites from Modern Trousseau:

Memeka by Gustavo Cadile featured sophisticated formal gowns in every color and length that has us longing for a prom redo.

On Friday, the runway moved to Grand Avenue Worldwide and featured Lagi Nadeau, Abi Ferrin, Nashville's own Leona and SAND.

Lagi Nadeau was heavy on jewel tones and metallics, with some retro prints thrown in.

Next up was Abi Ferrin's dark, moody collection:

This is what we'll be wearing next NO PANTS TUESDAY!!!

Leona by Lauren Leonard, who was the 2012 Nashville Fashion Forward Fund recipient, showed her flirty, feminine line, rich with bright, bold color and attention-grabbing prints.

Danish fashion house SAND closed the night with a breathtaking showing of menswear and womenswear.

After the show, we hightailed it over to 308 in East Nashville, where Amanda Valentine was having a little Valentine Valentine trunk show party. The room was filled with a lot of hot people buying clothes. Perhaps we saw you there?
