Alaska Thunderfuck explains her origins in a teaser clip for the current season of
RuPaul's Drag Race, and it's a good indicator of her otherworldly personality. The incredibly lanky Pittsburgher's absurdist sense of humor and subversive edge have made her a consistent Season 5 scene-stealer, whether she's impersonating a dysfunctional pageant mom, skewering a former contestant's fake tan, channeling Pee-wee Herman as a hyperactive kid's show host, coaxing her “flailing limbs” into a ballet performance in the role of RuPaul's mother, or strutting down the main stage in a green and purple saran wrap gown.
As the boyfriend of last season's winner, Alaska has some big (and intimidatingly fierce) shoes to fill. But this campy and avant-garde queen has already proven herself a drag superstar in her own right. She brings her act to Play tonight — prepare to laugh, gag, and get freaked out.
