Nicholas Kristof: 'Fighting Poverty & Repression by Empowering Women & Girls'

In case you missed Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times columnist and Half the Sky co-author Nicholas Kristof when he spoke at Vanderbilt Jan. 31 — and if you've wasted too much time on speeches by dubious online "visionaries" — the university has made his 2013 Chancellor's Lecture Series talk on "The World's Women: Fighting Poverty & Repression by Empowering Women & Girls" available.

It's a laudable service by Vanderbilt, which hosts visiting authors and lecturers throughout the year in a wide variety of disciplines. Next up in the lecture series, March 21, is Civil War historian Adam Goodheart, author of the best-selling 1861: The Civil War Awakening. The lectures are free and open to the public.
