It’s easy to overlook the Metro Arts Gallery — it’s really not much more than a hallway on the fourth floor of a city government building. But Milwaukee artist Della Wells’ presence there deserves all the attention we can muster — she’s a singular talent with a knack for visual narrative and a galvanizing story to tell. Think Romare Bearden with intense quilt-inspired graphics, or domestic scenes with the style and strong silhouettes of Henri Matisse or Kara Walker.
