Bootlegger's Bash: BOOTLEG Airstream at I+W Sunday

Posted By on Fri, Oct 12, 2012 at 8:53 PM

While there's an awesome big food truck thing going on this weekend, we are more excited about the arrival of a shoe truck. Because, when an airstream trailer filled with shoes rolls into town, you don't ask questions. OK, that's not entirely true. You ask one question: Where is this trailer parked?

Sunday, the BOOTLEG shoe trailer rolls into town, bringing a bunch of hard-to-find labels (Laurence Dacade, Raphael Young, J Shoes, Rosegold and Esquivel, to name but a few) and sought-after designs to Imogene + Willie, where they'll be parked from 2-4 p.m. The BOOTLEG trailer has been on tour throughout the south and the northeast, hitting Marfa, Charleston, New Orleans, Brooklyn and more.

BOOTLEG founder and stylist Sarah Ellison Lewis is also celebrating the impending launch of BOOTLEGmarket.com, which will dazzle the interwebs in February 2013. BOOTLEGmarket.com promises to reinvent the high-end footwear world, offering a global, peer-to-peer social, news and e-commerce shoe marketplace. The BOOTLEGmarket.com will offer users enticing options to buy, sell, rent, trade, and — our favorite — stalk.

The Nashville stop will be hosted by artist Allison Moorer Earle.

As someone who owns more boots than cookware, I will not be missing this magical mystery tour of footwear. Lewis will hold inventive private events leading up to New York's Fashion Week in February, so the truly shoe-obsessed should follow @bootlegmarket for updates.
