Brent Stewart, Country Life's featured artist for July, sent me a collection of snapshots he took that summarize his work, inspirations and personal objects. Call it the ephemera that creates the white noise that surrounds his artistic mind-space, or just call it whatever junk he looks at a lot. I think it's intriguing, and I hope you will too.
Look for Brent's answers to our questionnaire in a blog post next week, plus a preview of his upcoming show at Zeitgeist in the August 2 print issue of the Scene.

- Herzog and I in Panama. It's framed in front of the setlist from Silver Jews' last live performance (which was set in a cave).

- The first fish I ever caught

- Striped painting on a chair

- A photo of Denis Lavant as Chaplin from the Mister Lonely Portraits series that's hanging on the wall alongside a couple of my paintings from years back

- Busted headphones w/Kenneth Anger magazine/William Blake book
