Books Flavorwire's 'Extremely Silly Photos of Extremely Serious Writers'

From culture website Flavorwire (who recently brought us "The 10 Grumpiest Living Writers") comes this amusing collection of photos featuring serious writers in less-than-serious situations. While we might take issue with Flavorwire's categorization of Hunter S. Thompson as an extremely serious writer — brilliant, yes, but "extremely serious" isn't the first description that comes to mind — we can't quibble with a shot of Marcel Proust playing air guitar. Or Susan Sontag in a bear suit.

We might just have to do a series titled, "Extremely Serious Photos of Extremely Silly Alt-Weekly Writers." Hmmm ....
