Perhaps the fact that Zeitgeist Gallery shares its space with an architecture firm explains its inclination toward interdisciplinary crosspollination. But whatever the reason, their efforts matter now more than ever: Sabine Schlunk has left Scarritt-Bennett Center’s gallery F, taking with her the wide-ranging, thought-provoking programming she brought to that space. Zeitgeist, we’re counting on you to pick up the slack.
The gallery is hosting Nashville Cultural Arts Project’s Insight? Outta Site! series of interactive lectures with art professionals. Last month’s talk with artist and writer Sharon Butler shot a buzz through the art community — besides leading a discussion, Butler visited Nashville artists’ studios and posted comments and images of her findings on her award-winning blog Two Coats of Paint.
This month, New York-based artist, educator and speaker Bill Carroll will pick up where Butler left off. Reinforcing the series’ goal to create an engaged community exchange, all of the Insight? Outta Site! events are potlucks — so bring a dish to share.
