How to Fake a Terrible Beating, Courtesy of Tennessee Rep's Superior Donuts

Posted by on Tue, Mar 20, 2012 at 5:04 AM

Tennessee Rep has been producing these clever videos to promote its plays online — not just actors discussing their roles, but crew people pulling back the curtain to show how certain facets of the productions are handled. In this one for The Rep's current production of Superior Donuts, running through March 31 at TPAC's Johnson Theatre, fight choreographer Eric D. Pasto-Crosby tells how he and the cast handled a fight scene that playwright Tracy Letts describes in two solid pages of stage directions without pulling any punches.

Watch this week's Scene for Martin Brady's review.
