The native population of this Terran river city is distracted by recent news of an annual music festival. My science officer reports that the combination of sweltering summer heat, consumption of psychoactive plants and the spectacle of a sonic tradition known, colloquially, as "noodling" combine to obfuscate a much larger, more important cultural event: The arrival of several legendary Starfleet officers at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center via chronological wormhole displacement to sign autographs and engage in interpersonal communication with aspiring Starfleet cadets (and possibly a few Ferengis) June 9-10.
I've included information regarding this event compiled by a company known as Creation Entertainment, to be disseminated in its original 21st century vernacular, as follows:
It is a true pleasure for us to return for the very last time with The Official STAR TREK Convention beaming into what we consider the absolute best convention hotel in the world: the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It's en experience and a vacation in itself and the convention certainly wouldn't be the same without YOU! Let's bring down the roof for these talented folk who have give us decades of great entertainment and it indeed an honor to bring one of the globe's most gifted performers to "Music City", the legendary Sir Patrick Stewart on hand to lead the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Make your plans NOW to be with us for the fun: THIS IS OUR LAST VISIT TO THE AREA FOR STAR TREK so if you have ever wanted to come to an Official STAR TREK Convention: NOW is the time to get set!
Of particular note is the inclusion of Starfleet's Lt. Hikaru Sulu, who has vocalized his opinions on the socio-political mores of the region's elected representatives. In keeping with Starfleet's standard security protocols, all phasers will be set to "fun." Ticket information here.
