Here’s a shocking revelation for you: A dude in his 20s who writes for an alternative weekly newspaper likes The Daily Show! I know, right? Frankly, with primary season lurching toward an inevitable Romney or Gingrich conclusion, the only way to avoid spiraling into despair over our political system and Gingrich’s insistence on having an open marriage with America is with jokes — preferably ones about Googling Rick Santorum. John Oliver rises to the occasion admirably, not only as The Daily Show’s senior British correspondent, but as one half of the utterly brilliant weekly podcast The Bugle. Oliver is consistently hilarious, lampooning everything from his precarious green card situation to “spectacular crook” Silvio Berlusconi. But, realistically, any person who can coin the phrase “fuckeulogy” in describing the death of Osama Bin Laden is a person that you should happily give all of your money to.

No mention of his stint on Community?
ps. I'm attending the early show tomorrow. I've never been to Zanies. What should I expect?
I've only got 150 words, Tobes! But yes, Oliver is brilliant as Professor Duncan in Community. And pretty much everything else he does. If you're not listening to The Bugle, you're living a sad shell of a life.
Oh, as for your question. Seating determined by the amount of people in your party and how early you get there. An usher will take you either to the bar, a table on the main floor or a table in the balcony. There isn't really a bad seat in the house, but I prefer one of the tables whenever possible.
Like most comedy clubs, there's a two drink minimum and the drinks are about as expensive as you would expect (read: very). But, as far as clubs go, Zanies isn't too bad. Even if its decor is still languishing in the late 80s.
