Check Out the Trailer for Tennessee Rep's God of Carnage

Posted by Jim Ridley on Fri, Feb 3, 2012 at 4:57 PM

We still haven't seen Carnage, the well-reviewed movie version now in theaters of Yasmina Reza's pitch-black comedy God of Carnage. (Unlike the trailer above, the one for Roman Polanski's film most definitely does not use "Helter Skelter" as its soundtrack, however appropriate.) But the stage version opens this weekend at TPAC, promising nasty grownup fun in a Tennessee Rep production anchored by the able quartet of David Alford, Jeff Boyet, Shannon Hoppe and Shelean Newman. It plays through Feb. 18; report back if you see it over the weekend.

I'm going on opening night. I can't wait for some delicious carnage!

I'm not sure eating beforehand is a good idea ...

Went to the preview last night. David Alford was awesome as usual, & the rest of the cast & the production was great. Highly recommend it.

Truth be told, Alford's what got me excited about seeing this, although I'm eager to see Jeff Boyet after his terrific work in Blackbird's ARCADIA last year. I'm guessing Alford has the Christoph Waltz part?

Yes, Alford plays Alan, the lawyer.
