Nashville Notables Book Club: Dwight Lewis
Where: BookManBookWoman, 1713 21st Ave. S.
When: 6 p.m. Thu., Feb. 2

Remember when we were recently geeking out over photographs of the bookshelves in local artists’ studios? What better evidence can you get of a person’s range of interests than a stack of what they’re presently reading? (Hey, at least we left their medicine cabinets alone.) Hillsboro Village’s BookManBookWoman carries this one step further in its new book club, inviting Nashville authors to discuss a favorite book each month.

First up is former Tennessean editorial-page editor and veteran reporter-columnist Dwight Lewis, who will discuss Bus Ride to Justice: The Life and Works of Fred Gray by pioneering civil-rights attorney Fred Gray. He’ll be followed in the series on March 1 by Carole Bucy, author and history professor at Volunteer State University, and on April 5 by the Nick and Nora Charles of Southern lit and architecture crit, longtime Scene contributors Christine and Michael Kreyling.

Stop by the first Thursday of each month, starting tonight during the popular Hillsboro Village ArtWalk. Find out more by visiting the website of ArtWalk event coordinator Duncan Ragsdale.
