Tonight: Jane Austen Dance Party at Vanderbilt

Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, and if you’re looking for a classy way to impress your bookish lady-friend, the “Evening of Jane Austen Dances” tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Vanderbilt’s Alumni Hall could be just the thing to do it. Susan Kevra (a Vanderbilt senior lecturer) will teach the dances, and Al and Emily Cantrell will provide the hott Regency beatz on fiddle and piano. Here’s hoping you get to dance to the charmingly titled “Mr. Beveridge’s Maggot,” a song I’ve heard in at least two Jane Austen adaptations. Check it out in the clip below.
