Welcome to Country Life, the newest wing of the Scene's blog building. As the tagline on the above logo implies, the focus here will be on arts and culture, zooming in on the best of Nashville's bustling visual art, film, theater, books, fashion and design sectors — in short, more of what you already read the Scene for every week.
Expect everything from art reviews to heads-ups on local events, cinema run-downs to artist/designer interviews, poems to found art. And why, yes, you can follow us on Twitter. Like the print edition's Critics' Picks section, we'll point you to the good stuff. Is the local gallery scene kicking ass? Is there anything good on TV? Will we be able to make it to every midnight movie at The Belcourt this year? Is that really art? We'll keep you posted.
Welcome.

Needless to say, please pass along suggestions about what you'd like to see here. This is a work in progress, and we want to encompass as much as we can. And spread the word!
I probably should have mentioned that you can email us: countrylife[at]nashvillescene.com.
When I first heard about a new culture blog I was hoping for some video game coverage, but if you're keeping it Nashville centric, that ain't gonna happen. :(
I could document my slow descent into madness when I eventually bow to peer pressure and buy Skyrim.
@Lance: I got Skyrim for Christmas, and its not consumed my life. Yet. Then again, I've never been a big fan of open world/sandbox games. I prefer something with a stronger narrative.
@Laura: I own every major gaming platform except for Wii. :(
First time out and a blog for Nashville arts and culture has attracted a couple of gamers? Who knew? I don't know whether to be surprised or amused...hmmm, maybe both. Okay, this is one of those occurrences that defy dissection.
