Hitting the Bites inbox this morning, the folks at Sinema say they're opening on Friday, June 27, with service beginning at 4 p.m. Reservations can be made through the website (it's an Open Table portal, if you've got the app).
The website is alive and has pictures of chef Dale Levitski's food.
From the release:
Sinema is designed to offer a complete dining experience, including eclectic American cuisine, expertly crafted cocktails, a full wine program, and a sleek, yet comfortable atmosphere. Executive chef Dale Levitski, Top Chef finalist and James Beard nominee, has developed a menu that reflects his expertise, which is eclectic American cuisine featuring classically inspired dishes with a modern twist.
“I am fortunate to have members of my Chicago team relocate to Nashville with me. They are helping ensure the scratch style kitchen I have developed over the past ten years will be executed consistently,” said Levitski. “Meeting other chefs in Nashville has been great; everyone is so welcoming and helpful. This is a testament to the personality of the city, which is the number one reason I moved here. People keep asking me what is on the menu, and I think the most apropos way to unveil it is simply to wait until opening night. Let the curtain go up, and let the show begin."
The original Melrose theater, which opened in 1942, was restored through the renovation, led by Kathy Anderson of Anderson Design. The lobby, mirrored walls and ceiling, and curved grand staircase remain intact, reminiscent of the 1940s. The space is modernized with the addition of a custom kitchen, an upstairs bar with lounge seating and a large community table, private dining room, an open pastry station, and luxurious décor that blends exposed brick walls and cozy, velvet tufted booths.
“For a space this dynamic, we want people to enjoy it in different ways, whether you’re coming for drinks after work, a world-class dining experience or to gather with friends for a late night cocktail,” said Q-Juan Taylor, general manager and partner.
